Woman Sentenced to 14 Years for Stealing N3.15 Million in Abuja




A 22-year-old cashier, Mariam Salifu was sentenced to 14 years in prison for stealing N3.15 million belonging to her employers. The decision has been announced by an Abuja Magistrate Court, on September 9, 2013, Monday.

Pastor In deep mess As Boy Dies During Spiritual Bath



A 25-year-old pastor, Samson Bamgbose, was, yesterday, arraigned before an Abeokuta Chief Magistrate Court, Isabo, Ogun State for allegedly causing the death of a church member, who drowned during a spiritual bath.

Bamgbose, a pastor at the Celestial Church of Christ, Alaapa, is facing a one-count charge of negligence.

Jonathan, 2015 and threats by fire-spitting militants



At the presidential level, Goodluck Jonathan has taken the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office on three occasions — first as the vice-president, as the acting president and again as the substantive president.  These pledges were taken, not as a sectional or ethnic leader, but as a national leader. Four ‘rebel’ governors meet Jonathan on Tuesday met with President Goodluck Jonathan, in Abuja to protest ‘the belligerence’ of the party’s National Chairman, Dr.  Bamanga Tukur.
Before the meeting, Jonathan had held  two separate closed doors meetings  with two elders of the PDP and three governors  sympathetic to the  Tukur-led  faction over the crisis rocking the party.

Alleged fraudster Fred Ajidua granted bail in a Lagos high court



A Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja, today Tuesday September 10th, granted bail to alleged fraudster, Fred Ajudua. Mr Ajidua's lawyer pleaded with the court to grant him bail because he is living on one kidney. The judge set his bail at N50 million with two sureties in like sum.
Fred Ajidua is being accused by EFCC of defrauding two Dutch businessmen of $1.69 million (N270 million).

Olu of Warri rescinds choice to renounce Tittle



The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwase II, has rescinded his decision to renounce his royal title, Ogiame, as well as abolish some ancient Itshekiri cultural practices. The Itsekiri Monarch bowed to the wishes of his people after days of protests. His people asked him to either rescind his decision or abdicate. His decision was made public this afternoon Tuesday September 10th at the Kings Palace by one of his High Chiefs, Rita Lori Ogbebor, who read from a statement that was issued by 22 Palace Chiefs

Ibori recommended Waziri for EFCC job – Obasanjo



Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said the appointment of Mrs. Farida Waziri as the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission slowed down the fight against corruption in the country.

 Obasanjo, in an exclusive interview he granted Zero Tolerance, a magazine published by the EFCC,  said Waziri was a wrong successor to Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the pioneer chairman of the anti-graft agency.

Russia proves photos and videos of Syrian chemical attack were faked




Convincing evidence was demonstrated to the UN Human Right Council at its 24th session in Geneva, proving that photos and videos of victims of the Damascus chemical attack on August 21 were fake, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"A press briefing was held at the 24th session of the UN Security Council's Human Rights Council in Geneva on September 9 which dealt with human rights and armed conflicts, the US threat to use force against Syria and international law. International experts, Syrian public and religious leaders, and Rossiya 24 correspondent Anastasia Popova who has worked in Syria for a long time, presented their reports," it said in a statement posted on its website on Tuesday.

Jordanian MP opens fire in parliament



A member of Jordan’s parliament is reported to have opened fire today at his colleague, the al-Arabiya channel says. No one was injured as a result of fire exchange inside the parliament, local media say. There have been no details on the reasons behind this shooting incident.

Kaduna PDP chiefs dump Tukur, join Baraje faction



Some leaders of  the Peoples Democratic Party led by a former Chairman of the PDP in Kaduna State, Alhaji Audi  Yaro-Makanma  have  joined the Abubakar Baraje faction of the party.
Yaro-Makanma  was the state party chairman between 2001  and 2007 under the Ahmed Makarfi  administration in the state.
A statement signed by  Yaro-Makanma  and a former member of the State House of Assembly(1999-2007), Mr. Gideon Morik, in Kaduna on Monday,  said  the decision to join the New PDP was to save the party from   destruction.

The Peoples Democratic Party has said that the Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola (SAN), is not the best governor in Nigeria.
The PDP Publicity Secretary, Mr. Olisa Metuh, who said this in an interview with journalists in Abuja, said there were PDP governors who had done better than Fashola.
“I disagree with the view that Fashola is the best governor in Nigeria. There are PDP governors who did better than Fashola in terms of delivering dividends of democracy to their people. Have you been to Akwa Ibom, Jigawa, Cross Rivers and some other states that are being ruled by PDP governors?” Metuh said.

32-Year-Old Cultist apprehended by Nigerian Police For 10 Murders



The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 32-year-old man, Adigun Muda, in connection with some murders in the Mushin and Fadeyi areas of the state. He was arrested at South Africa Visa Application centre on Billingsway, Ikeja. According to police authorities, the suspect, who is also an alleged leader of Black Axe cult, has been linked to the killings of over 10 youths between 2010 and 2013. The suspect had, in the past, been declared wanted by the police, charged for murder and remanded at Ikoyi Prison for over a year but with the help of some influential members of his community, was able to obtain a motion for bail application and was released under controversial circumstances.

8-year-old Bride Dies After having $-ex With 40-years old Hubby On Wedding Night.



An eight year old bride in Yemen died from internal injuries on her wedding night, bleeding to death after deep honeypotl tearing caused by sex with her 40 year old husband. The girl, identified only by the name Rawan, died in Hardh in the governorate of Hajjah in northwestern Yemen, according to a report issued by UPI on Sunday, Sept. 8. Activists in the region want to put an end to the practice of marrying young girls, and have called for police to arrest the girl's husband and family.

Confirmed: UK has been sending gas chemicals to Syria for 6 years

Students don’t want ASUU to end strike – ASUU president, Dr Isa Fagge -( True Or False ??)



The Academic Staff Union of Universities has said it is continuing its nationwide strike on the advice of university students.
In a telephone interview with SUNDAY PUNCH, the President of the union, Dr. Isa Fagge, said students were tired of the incessant industrial actions by the university lecturers due to the Federal Government’s failure to implement the agreement it had with ASUU since 2009.

Fagge said the union had decided to heed the advice of the students to continue the strike until the Federal Government fully implemented the agreement.

Several Turkish F-16 warplanes took off from base in southeastern Diyarbakir after large explosion close to Syrian border, local media reported on Sunday.

Armed Nigerian Police Invade Headquarters of New PDP in Abuja



Armed policemen have been dispatched to seal up the secretariat of the new faction of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja.

The office building located at Plot 320, off Onyi River Crescent, Maitama, was opened by the Kawu Baraje-led new PDP that broke away last week during the special convention of the party.

An Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) and police Hilux vehicles were stationed around the building to prevent anyone from entering or leaving the building.

Secondary School Principal Found Dead In A Gutter



The principal of Ijokodo Junior Secondary School 1, Ibadan, Oyo State Mr Segun Dare, was on Wednesday, found dead along the street to his home at Citaga area, Sango-Eleyele road, face down in a gutter, with his mobile handset in his pocket and a polythene bag containing soup ingredients.
It was gathered that the deceased left his home in the afternoon of Tuesday, September 3, to go to a first generation bank along Sango-Eleyele road but could not do what he intended doing there as he got there late and he reportedly called his wife and told her that he did not achieve his objective, informing her that he was returning home immediately.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s strategist Alireza Forghani published statements in his blog warning of mass abduction and brutal killings of American citizens worldwide in the event US launches a military strike in Syria.

Forghani, the former governor of southern Iran’s Kish Province, came up with the threat and vowed to back Bashar al-Assad’s regime to the hilt, reports The Daily Caller.
