4 more Ebola patients discharged – Health Minister



4 more patients have now been certified clean and discharged from the Ebola Isolation center in Lagos after undergoing treatment for the deadly disease. The four patients include two male doctors, the nurse who'd earlier escaped from the isolation center and ran to Enugu and women patient who had been on admission during the time Patrick Sawyer was hospitalized at the First Consultant Hospital. 

The headlines of these discharge was disclosed in a statement released today by the Minister of Health, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu and signed by his his Special Assistant on Media and Communication, Mr. Dan Nwomeh

Photos: Doctors, students, head to the street to protest mass sack of resident doctors



Medical doctors, students, consultants converged at the Lagos University Teaching hospital, (LUTH), Idi Araba, today to protest the recent sack of 16,000 resident doctors by the Federal Government. The protest was led by the Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Dr. Tope Ojo. The doctors said their strike was never about a rise in their salary, that they certainly were fighting for was for better structures and equipment in hospitals across the country. Nuhu Ribadu defends dumping APC for PDP



Former EFCC boss Nuhu Ribadu has defended his defection from APC to PDP, which he announced over the weekend. Speaking through his spokesperson Abdulaziz Abdulaziz to Punch, Ribadu said;

"In Nigeria, especially in politics, you can’t say that this is an exclusive party for the people who are thieves or this is for good people. It’s just like saying that all Yorubas are this or all Igbos are this. In every group of people, there must be good people and there are bad people. Of course, the good may be more than the bad or the bad may be more than the good in any group. But there is no any party that is exclusively for the good people or for the bad people.”. Continue...

Ebola: Nano Silver fails to meet health Ethics Code - Health Minister




The minister said this today August 18th while receiving the US Ambassador, Mr James Entwistle, in his office in Abuja.

Nigerian Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu says the drug, produced by a Nigerian in diaspora, has failed health requirements and won't be applied to Ebola patients in Nigeria.
 
The minister said this today August 18th while receiving the US Ambassador, Mr James Entwistle, in his office in Abuja.

EFCC Arrests 4 Bankers for ATM Fraud
