Gov. Fashola hands over new Classrooms,says commitment to Education development remain unwavering.

“We have approved that 800 schools as a pilot phase, to be connected to Lagos State public water supply system”, he says
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN), Thursday handed over three new blocks of 42 ultra-modern classrooms at Iba Housing Estate Senior Secondary School, Ojo and Alice Ogbara Memorial Junior Secondary School, Sabo Oniba with a pledge that his administration’s commitment to the development of education remains unwavering.

The first two blocks of 24 classrooms handed over at Iba Housing Estate Senior Secondary School, Ojo, were constructed by the State Government while the other block of 18 classrooms was donated to the school by Mr. and Mrs. Modupe Folorunsho Alakija.

Enugu state First Lady denies being Imprisoned by Gov Chime

Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State on Tuesday night denied subjecting his wife, Mrs. Clara Chime, to accommodate arrest and has vowed to protect her from being exposed to ridicule. Chime made this denial in the current presence of some journalists, his wife and her elder brother, Mr. Tony Igwe.

Gov Okorocha chooses singer Adokiye for Youth Ambassador in Imo

This gov & female artists sha...hehe. Months after appointing actor and product Shirley Igwe as his Principal Protocol, he has appointed another female entertainment. Artist and architect Adokiye Kyrian was lately made a youth ambassador in Imo State. The'back Up'crooner can also be be termed as co-ordinator of'The Youth Decides ".Adokiye & her staff flew government private jet during their trip to the Imo state government. Gov. Fashola presents N489.7b budget estimates for 2014 to Lagos Assembly -

The Lagos State Gov. Babatunde Fashola, on Wednesday presented budget estimates of N489.7 billion for the year 2014 to the State House of Assembly.

Lagos, the former capital of Nigeria is the country’s commercial nerve centre. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the budget was about N8 billion less than the 2013 estimates of N497.27 billion.

NAN further reports that the budget is comprised of a proposed capital expenditure of N225.02 billion and a recurrent figure of N234. 67 billion.

Bayelsa State Govt Demolishes Gov. Dickson's Personal Home

Bayelsa State Government on Wednesday demolished a one-storey private building owned by Governor Seriake dickson because it obstructed the Right-of-Way as well as intruding on the state Capital City Master Plan.

Deputy Governor John Jonah told journalists that the location of the Governor’s house obstructed the Right-of-Way, hence there would be no compensation for him.

Federal Gov. Recovers ₦188Bn From Ghost Workers In 215 Ministries

The Minister of Information and Supervising Minister of Defence, Mr. Labaran Maku, has disclosed that the President Goodluck Jonathan led administration has recovered the sum of N118.9 billion from ghost workers since the beginning of the year.

The minister made the disclosure during a World Press conference held in Abuja, where he stated that about 46,821 ghost workers have so far been identified from 215 Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, with the application of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System, IPPIS.

IBB Wants more power to the states and LGs

Former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida (Rtd) has advocated for a genuine federalism where more responsibilities get to the states and local governments.
Speaking once the members of the Revenue Allocation and Fiscal Commission paid him an operating visit in Minna, General Babangida noted that there is of responsibilities on the shoulders of the federal government.
The former military president, who noted that the present revenue allocation formula is lopsided, called on the federal government to cede more powers to the states and local governments which are nearer to the people.  Also speaking throughout the visit, the Chairman Revenue Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Elias Mbam explained that overview of the revenue allocation formula of the country is long overdue and the commission is on the verge of changing it.

Spiritual Disaster Brewing In Osun State Around Gov. Aregbesola's Merger Of Schools

While the storm arising from the planned demolition of Fakunle High School in Oshogbo to make room for the setting up of a Shop Rite Mall has yet not settled, a policy of school reclassification by the Aregbesola administration may be instigating another crisis in Osun State.

In the scheme of school reclassifications announced by the Osun State Government, there are now three schools: the elementary, middle school and high schools.

Federal Gov. set to tackle rebel govs, Baraje

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party may take a turn for the worse while the Presidency and the Federal Capital Territory Administration intensify actions against “rebel” members of the party.
Our Source gathered on Monday that while the Presidency was set to remove such rebel members holding  board appointments, the FCTA  was determined to make sure that more  governors sympathetic to the Alhaji Abubakar Barage-led New PDP lose their landed properties in Abuja.
One of many seven governors in the New PDP, Rabiu Kwakwanso of Kano State, had a selection little bit of land allocated to him in Maitama District, Abuja, revoked by the FCTA on Saturday.
Our Source gathered that the FCTA was also set to remove what it termed “illegal structures on the land” measuring about 2,500 square metres.

Lagos Gov. Fashola Agrees To Pay Pa Kasunmu’s Medical Bills

The Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, has taken it upon himself to save ailing Nigerian actor, Kayode Dosumu, popularly known as Pa Kasunmu. The governor was said to have reached the actor and consented to foot his total medical bill. The movie icon had cried to everyone to help him raise N12 million allow him undergo a medical treatment to improve his kidney and liver ailments. Recall that in 2012, Governor Fashola paid about N4.5 million for the medical surgery of another actor in Nollywood, Ngozi Nwosu.

Governor Orji, Tells Police To stop Gov. Okorocha's Birthday Reception In Abia

The proposed civic reception in honour of Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, billed to hold today in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State, has been stopped on the orders of the state governor, Theodore Orji.

Abia governor who alleged that the reception was a ploy to launch the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state stopped the reception organised by rescue missionaries to mark the 51 birthday of Okorocha.

Rivers State Gov. Rotimi Amaechi, granted SaharaTV an exclusive interview, where he discussed the ongoing feud between him and Nigeria’s first family. He expressed his respect for first lady, Patience Jonathan but also mentioned the inappropriate role he believes she is playing in Rivers State politics: “She (Patience Jonathan) tries to insist that I must tell her what I’m doing in government…She is the wife of the President. I can only respect her”. Gov. Amaechi also explained the controversy between the Nigerian Governor’s Forum and Pres. Goodluck Jonathan. He noted that “We governors.are change agents. We can work with the President tomorrow but we must see a change agenda from him”. The relationship between President Jonathan and Gov. Amaechi began deteriorating in early 2013 because of Gov. Gov. Fashola Ultimately Unveiles The Tallest Hotel In West Africa

Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola, yesterday, unveiled the N30 billion tallest hotel in West Africa, the Intercontinental Lagos.  The hotel located at Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, is really a 23-storey building with 358 rooms, 37 suites and a presidential suite.

Gov Suntai's letter to Taraba Assembly; Femi Falana demands police investigation

Senior lawyer and political activist, Femi Falana (SAN), yesterday sent a petition to the Inspector General of Police demanding a detailed investigation of the letter purportedly sent to the Taraba State House of Assembly by Governor Danbaba Suntai yesterday indicating he is ready to resume office.

Governor Suntai returned to Nigeria on Sunday after 10 months away receiving treatment and rehabilitation for serious brain injuries he received when an aircraft he was piloting crashed in October 2012.  Reports say he appeared bewildered and uncoordinated as he arrived, needing help and not speaking.
