The Coalition of Osun State Students’ Movement has denounced the endorsement of Governor Rauf Aregbesola for a second term by the National Association of Osun State Students and the Joint Campus Committee, saying they did not reflect the views of the students in the state.
Leaders of the group, who addressed a press conference in Osogbo, said it was unfortunate that the NAOSS and the JCC, that had earlier organised solidarity protest in support of the striking lecturers of Osun State-owned tertiary institutions, would endorse the governor while the workers were still on strike.

Governor Aregbesola Gave His Female Deputy A Dirty Slap

Gist going round is that the Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola is just a man with hot temper and he lost it recently and gave his deputy, a woman older than him, a dirty slap during an argument...
But Gov Aregbesola has denied slapping Mrs. Grace Tomori, his deputy, stressing that the rumor was aimed at causing disaffection between them. Can there be smoke without fire. What is the cause of this smoke?

Reacting to the allegation, the governor said: “I have not beaten anybody within my life. In fact, I don't beat my children, let alone beating some other person. Way more, the Deputy Governor is older than me, so just how do I beat an aged person.”

Man Gets 45 years for stealing Gov Aregbesola’s N50k phone

A 31 year old named Kevin Ighodalo (pictured above), has been sentenced to 45 years imprisonment by an Osogbo High Court for stealing a Sony Ericsson phone said to be worth about N50,000 belonging to Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State. Below is how Punch is reporting it
Ighodalo stole the phone from the pocket of Aregbesola on November 27, 2010, when the governor was being inaugurated at Government Technical College, Osogbo.
Justice Oyejide Falola, who heard the case, found Ighodalo guilty on six counts, which included conspiracy, stealing and fraud.
He was sentenced to 10-year imprisonment for the first three counts and five years for each of the last three which included impersonation, obtaining property by falsehood and collusion.
Falola, who ruled that Ighodalo deserved the jail term, held that the convict used the phone to obtain N500, 000 from the Owa of Ilesa, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, while he obtained N200, 000 from Mr Shengen Rahman, an associate of the governor.

Aregbesola wants to Islamise Osun – CAN

The leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria, Osun State chapter, has accused Governor Rauf Aregbesola of attempting to perpetrate an Islamic agenda in the 22-year-old state. Secretary of the association, Rev. Michael Ajayi, speaks with TUNDE ODESOLA
What informed the allegation that Governor Rauf Aregbesola is perpetrating an Osun Islamisation agenda?
In 2012, there was an intelligence report of the agenda of the Governor of Osun State, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, to Islamise the state, which he vehemently refuted in his broadcast to the good people of Osun State. He said, “My good people of the State of Osun. As you may be aware, some reports in the advertorial sections of the media concerning our state and my person should give enough room for concern. There is a purported security report alleging that I am working towards Islamising Osun and plotting to secede from Nigeria. The first is patently false, while the second is laughable.”
