History Will Be On Tinubu’s Side - By Gbenga Olorunpomi

*Men make their own history, but they do not make it as they please; they  do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past¦ Karl Marx*

Good people are hard to come by. The uncomfortable truth is that this world despises good people. Human beings have a natural instinct to either extinguish the spatter of lights that dot the almost tangible darkness
around us, or cover it up. We are quick to kill the better people in our society or to drag them down into the mud with us. We are uncomfortable with the notion that some people can be good while we swim in our filth. We resent the notion of such arrogance. We dont understand it, so we destroy it.

History Of Mine Brutality

When 75,000 black miners went on strike in 1946, the state police forced
them back to work by fi ring on them with rifl es and charging with fi xed
bayonets. Twenty-fi ve were killed and thousands were wounded.
At that time Smuts was the head of the government and a delegate to
the Peace Conference. On farms owned by white men, the black laborers live almost like serfs. They may have their families with them, but no man is allowed to leave the farm without the permission of his master.
If he does so, the police are notifi ed and he is brought back by force and whipped. . . .

Check Out Top 7 Confraternities in Nigeria and their History

In Nigeria, a confraternity is a group that is nominally university-based, though 'street and creek' confraternities began in the 1990s. The first confraternity, the Pyrates Confraternity was created as a social organization for promising students.

However, as new confraternities were formed, they became increasingly violent through the 1970s and 1980s. By the 1990s, many confraternities largely operated as criminal gangs, called "campus cults" in Nigeria. Besides normal criminal activity, confraternities have been linked to political violence, as well as the conflict in the Niger Delta.

See Photo Of Pres. Obama Looking Like Satan - History channel's The Bible

There is a striking resemblance between the actor who plays Satan in History Channel's hit mini-series, The Bible, and the president of the United States of America, Barack Obama. Can you guys see the resemblance? Coincidence or deliberate? The actor's name is Mohamen Mehdi Ouazanni.

The resemblance was pointed out on Twitter by people who watched the series this past Sunday and it is causing a lot of controversy in the US. History Channel has responded to the controversy:
"History channel has the highest respect for President Obama. The series was produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It’s unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. History’s The Bible is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history.”

History’ll judge OBJ – Gbenga Daniel

Due essentially to adversarial kind of politics people play in this part of the world, hardly has any public office holder in Nigeria come out unscathed. This is particularly so for former Governor Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State who has been entangled in a web of controversies with his successor, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, over the debt profile allegedly accumulated by his administration.  In this no-holds-barred interactive session with some journalists, OGD gave a blow-by-blow account of his roles in all sensitive matters threatening his public image. Excerpts:
The government of Ogun State recently announced that you accumulated hundreds of billions of naira debt before your administration left office. What is your position on that?
