FG rolls-out 10,000 low cost houses





The Federal Government on Thursday officially began the roll-out of the first phase of its 10,000 housing units under the affordable home ownership scheme.

The project, to be spearheaded by the newly established Nigerian Mortgage Refinancing Company will enable Nigerians to own their houses at affordable rate.

The Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala while speaking at the event in Abuja said with the flag-off, low income earners would begin to have the opportunity to own their houses under a flexible payment package.

Atlanta Georgia Police Discover 10-year-old's Body in Dustbin




Detectives are investigating an offense scene at an Atlanta apartment complex where the human body of a badly burned 10-year-old girl was found early today.

Gwinnett County Sgt. Brian Doan told ABCNews.com that police dispatch received a 911 call from the girl's father at 3:43 a.m. The person indicated he was suicidal, and that his daughter had died after drinking a form of chemical, police said. He told police that the girl's body was with him inside the apartment.

32-Year-Old Cultist apprehended by Nigerian Police For 10 Murders



The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a 32-year-old man, Adigun Muda, in connection with some murders in the Mushin and Fadeyi areas of the state. He was arrested at South Africa Visa Application centre on Billingsway, Ikeja. According to police authorities, the suspect, who is also an alleged leader of Black Axe cult, has been linked to the killings of over 10 youths between 2010 and 2013. The suspect had, in the past, been declared wanted by the police, charged for murder and remanded at Ikoyi Prison for over a year but with the help of some influential members of his community, was able to obtain a motion for bail application and was released under controversial circumstances.

Anambra to use Bill Gates money to build 10 hospitals



AWKA- Anambra State government said yesterday that it would use the money it won from being the best state in the coverage of immunization programme in the South-East to build 10 maternities in the rural parts of the state.
Governor Peter Obi, who made the disclosure during the flag-off of the National Obstetric Fistula Repair Programme at the Anambra State University Teaching Hospital, Awka, said the state had matched the $US1 million monetary award with N120 million for the project.
The governor also flagged-off the fumigation exercise against mosquitoes in the state, explaining that the exercise was part of the state government’s programme towards elimination of malaria.
He called on the people of the state to corporate with those carrying out the fumigation exercise since it was for their own good.
Obi also flagged-off the construction of a hostel block at the teaching hospital to house medical students.

Human Parts Available For sale: Live human N40,000, Head N8,000, Private Parts 10,000




Emotions ran high, Tuesday, at Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, following startling revelations by suspected members of three syndicates, who specialised in selling human parts to herbalists and persons suspected to be clerics.
The suspects told a bewildered crowd that human heads were sold for N8,000; hands, N4,000 and private parts N10,000.
One of them, Agboola Kolawole, who blamed his indulgence on poverty and inability to pay his children’s school fees, disclosed that he had so far sold four heads of his deceased siblings to a herbalist, who in turn sold to some persons they identified simply as Alhajis.

Violated at 10, gang-raped at 19: I tried to kill myself twice –Victim





At 37, Blessing Anuoluwapo (not real name) has had enough tragic encounters to last more than a lifetime. At a point, she hated men and vowed never to get married. No one would blame her, having been raped four times! On two occasions, she was gang- raped by people she called friends.
At the age of ten, when children were only concerned with playing and eating, Anuoluwapo was being molested by their houseboy who was twice her age. He first began by touching her, before it later resulted in him having sèx with her on a number of occasion.
