Atlanta Georgia Police Discover 10-year-old's Body in Dustbin

Detectives are investigating an offense scene at an Atlanta apartment complex where the human body of a badly burned 10-year-old girl was found early today.

Gwinnett County Sgt. Brian Doan told ABCNews.com that police dispatch received a 911 call from the girl's father at 3:43 a.m. The person indicated he was suicidal, and that his daughter had died after drinking a form of chemical, police said. He told police that the girl's body was with him inside the apartment.
Continue after the break.
Officers who responded to the decision found the man standing outside the Landmark at Coventry Pointe Apartments on Veranda Chase. Doan said that when they arrived he pointed to a waste can in the recreational area where there were picnic tables.

Officers lifted the lid and found the girl's body inside, which they said have been burned, although the cause of the girl's death has not yet been confirmed.

Police haven't released the names of the daddy or his daughter, and are treating the death as a homicide. The father has been taken to Police Headquarters but has not yet been arrested, Doan said.(abcnews)
