R.I.P: Professor Slumps And Dies While Watching Nigeria-Ethiopia Game
Michael Filani of the Department of Geography, University of Ibadan, passed away on Sunday, October 13, while watching the Nigeria/Ethiopia World Cup qualifying match. The Ikole Ekiti-born professor slumped and died while watching the match at his Oluyole Extension home in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. With over 35 years of experience in teaching and research, his areas of emphasis include transport planning and development; economic geography; and regional development planning. He served in several capacities both within and away from University of Ibadan. He wrote and published more than 90 articles, technical and consultancy reports on transport, regional development and planning, particularly in Nigeria. His death was received with shock by the university community yesterday. Lots of people said he was agile and radiant at his last public outing

Beware your smartphone: NSA is watching you

NSA can tap most sensitive data saved on smartphones, including contact lists, SMS and location information, Germany’s Der Spiegel has argued citing some secret NSA documents, which is claims to have. The article published Sunday doesn’t say how the magazine obtained the documents, but one of its authors is Laura Poitras, an American filmmaker with close contacts to NSA leaker Edward Snowden.

PRISM: Every move you make, “they” will be watching you
The US Government and the unified global communications network operated by an alliance of the secret SIGINT units of Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States called UKUSA, has developed, expanded and spread unhindered to such a point that everything and anything you do on the internet, on a cell phone and through every other means of electronic based communications can, and now we know, is being collected, recorded and spied upon.
Like United States military infrastructure, through its international global military arm NATO, U.S. signals intelligence operations have now spread to every corner of the globe and are greedily gobbling up anything and everything that is flowing through cyber space, regardless of its origin or the rights of those being spied upon.

Guys! Too Much TV Watching Can Result In Lower Spérm Counts – Study
A study has revealed that men who do little exercise and spend much of their time watching television have lower spérm counts than more active men. The study, published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, shows falling sperm quality is linked to lower levels of physical activity.
The study found that young men who watch television for just three hours a day have half the spérm count of men rarely found in front of the box. Yet 15 hours or more of exercise a week boosts sémen quality, according to the results in nearly 200 college students.

T.R.A.G.E.D.Y: Man Dies Watching Nigeria - Ivory Coast Match
An engineer with Nigeria’s Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA collapsed and died yesterday in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun state, after Ivory Coast netted the equaliser in the Nigeria - Ivory Coast quarter-final match in the African Nations Cup tournament in South Africa.
The man, identified as Owolabi Ismail had a sudden heart attack at a viewing centre popularly called,"Promise Stadium" which is located at Lanlepe compound, Oke-Sokori,Abeokuta. He died while he was being taken to the hospital. He had since been buried according to Islamic rites.
