A Woman Claims She Saw Missing Malaysian Plane Sinking



An eagle-eyed passenger on a flight across the Indian Ocean may have seen the missing Malaysian airplane sinking into the sea the day it vanished - but nobody took her seriously, she said.
Raja Dalelah Raja Latife, 53, was flying from Saudi Arabia to Malaysia near the Andaman Islands on March 8, when she spotted what she believes was flight MH370 below(after the break). 
"It looked like an airplane . . . I took a closer look and was shocked to see what looked like the tail and wing of an aircraft on the water," she told the Malaysia's Star Online. "I had seen several shipping liners and islands from my window earlier. Then, I saw the silvery object."..

Lao Lao Again: Lao Airlines plane crashes into water, eliminating 49 People




A Lao Airlines aircraft crashed today Wednesday October 16th killing all 44 passengers and five crew  members on board. The twin-engine turbo aircraft was on a domestic trip from the capital Vientiane to the airport in the Champasak province in the Southern Asian country when it plunged into the water as it tried to land at Pakse Global Airport. Guests from 11 different countries were in the aircraft including three South Koreans, eight French, one American, one Chinese, one Taiwanese, one Canadian, five Australians and two Vietnamese.

‘Deceased’ man wakes up, grabs bottle of water at own funeral




Onlookers were shocked when a man, who was said to be dead, suddenly got up and grabbed a bottle of water.

The soft drink vendor in China faked his own death in order to sue the government after an altercation with government employees.

But his cover was blown when he became too hot in the Hubei Province, in central China. The heat was too much for him to bear.

UpDATE: Injuries reported as police fire tear gas, water cannon at Istanbul protesters



The police have fired water cannon and tear gas to drive away protesters from both Istanbul’s Taksim Square and Gezi Park, hours after Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan demanded the square to be “evacuated.” Protesters claim multiple injuries.

Several people have been taken away in ambulances after being loaded onto stretchers, RT reports from Istanbul.
The crowd, which had been chanting: "Everywhere is Taksim, everywhere is resistance," was sent scrambling by the police, the latest escalation of tensions in more than two weeks of mass anti-government demos.
Turkish PM warns security forces will evict Istanbul park protesters
Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan warned protesters occupying a central Istanbul park that they should leave before a ruling party rally on Sunday or face eviction by the security forces.
"We have our Istanbul rally tomorrow. I say it clearly: Taksim Square must be evacuated, otherwise this country's security forces know how to evacuate it," Erdogan told tens of thousands of supporters at a rally in the capital Ankar

We’ll provide potable water everywhere in Lagos – Fashola



Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola has assured Lagosians of his administration’s commitment to ensuring that every citizen of the state, particularly rural dwellers, has access to potable water.  Fashola spoke during the inauguration of the Igborosun Micro Water Scheme in Badagry Local Government, according to a statement by the Ministry of Rural Development on Monday.
 
The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Adetokunbo Abiru, said his passion for providing potable water especially  for the rural dwellers, had complimented the efforts of the state water corporation with other water designs in the semi-urban and rural areas where the corporation could not extend its services to.

Holy death: 4 die in T.B. Joshua’s church during stampede for holy water






Four Ghanaian churchgoers were killed today during Pastor TB Joshua's church service on Sphintex Road in Accra during a stampede as worshippers scrambled for "Holy Water ".


Police sources in Accra stated that the four dead persons comprised of three females and young boy. Thirteen others were injured in the stampede. The Nigerian born controversial priest is the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), church with a large following in Lagos suburb and also a televangelismarm that parades miracles and prophesies ranging from claims of AIDS /HIV cure, plane crashes and outcomes of soccer matches.

EU Contributes ₦193bn To Support Water Supply, Sanitation In Nigeria – Minister





Anambra, Cross River, Jigawa, Kano, Osun and Yobe are the benefitting states.
 
The European Union, EU, has contributed 94 million Euros (about N184.24 billion) for the implementation of the 10th European Development Fund (EDF) to support water supply and sanitation programmes in Nigeria.
 
A statement in Abuja on Thursday said the head of the National Planning Commission, Shamsuddeen Usman, said this while signing a financial agreement with the beneficiary states and local governments in Abuja.

FEMEN carried out holy "water attack" on Belgian Catholic Church



Several activists of the women's movement FEMEN have sprayed head of Archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard, the head of the Belgian Catholic Church, with water

Activists from the Brussels division of FEMEN attacked the archbishop during "a session of public propaganda of hatred and religious fanaticism" at ULB, one of the main educational establishments in Belgium, on April 23, the day of legalization of same-sex marriages in France, FEMEN said in a report.
The FEMEN activists sprayed the archbishop with water.
"FEMEN consistently opposes religious propaganda of violence, homophobia, and attempts made by the church to resume its destructive [:] influence on women and society in general," FEMEN said in its press release.
On April 23, the French National Assembly passed in the second reading a bill allowing homosexuals to marry and adopt children.

WARNING: Sachet ‘Pure’ Water Exposed To Heat Can Be Cancerous – Expert



Prof. Amobi Ilika has advised those who consume sachet water (popularly called pure water) exposed to heat to be wary in order to avoid drinking cancerous substances.
Ilika, who is the Director of Community and Public Medicine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), Nnewi, said sachet water exposed to heat beyond room temperature could be cancerous.
He said the heat could melt some of the substances used in making the polythene bags.

Ezu River: Sen. Uba Donates Bags Of ‘Pure Water’ To Amansea Community



Senator Andy Uba, representing Anambra South Constituency, has donated 5000 bags of sachet water to Amansea community. The gesture is meant to ameliorate the water problem which arose in the community after dead bodies were dumped in Ezu River by unknown persons.
The bags of satchet water were yesterday handed over to the traditional ruler of Amansea, Igwe Kenneth Okonkwo, for distribution to the people by representatives of Senator Uba led by Mr. Bright Nebedum and Dr. Charles Nweke of the Andy Uba Foundation.
