Four of the seven aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party governors meet Jonathan



Four ‘rebel’ governors meet Jonathan on Tuesday met with President Goodluck Jonathan, in Abuja to protest ‘the belligerence’ of the party’s National Chairman, Dr.  Bamanga Tukur.
Before the meeting, Jonathan had held  two separate closed doors meetings  with two elders of the PDP and three governors  sympathetic to the  Tukur-led  faction over the crisis rocking the party.

Video: PDP breaks; Atiku, Amaechi and 6 other governors form new factional Party



Nigeria's former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and five other governors walked out of the Peoples Democratic Party’s Convention that held in Abuja today and went to form a faction of the party. The governors who left the convention with Atiku are: Governor Mu'azu Babangida Aliyu of Niger state, governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state, governor Musa Kwankwaso of Kano state, and governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara state.

US: Pastor shot and killed For Asking Neighbors To Keep Party Noise To Zero Level.



A father and pastor known for his community activism was shot and killed because he asked neighbors to keep the noise down, according to local affiliate WDIV in Detroit.
Tim Kirby, 46, was a father of four and a local pastor known for his work in the community, but on Monday night he was shot and k!lled, all because he asked neighbors who were having a party to lower the noise.

“It was devastating. I cried for a minute, and then it was like I couldn’t cry no more,” said his daughter, Tatiana Kirby. “He was a good father. He was always a caring person. Every Sunday we were always in church. He always made sure we had clothes, good clothes on our backs, food on the table.”

We don’t need two-party system — SNG ( Do You Agree?)



The Save Nigeria Group has said the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and the emerging mega opposition party, All Progressives Congress, lack the ideology to be the dominant parties in a two-party system. In an interview with our correspondent, the Publicity Secretary, SNG, Yinka Odumakin, while faulting the call for two-party system in the country, noted that countries like Britain and the Unites States of America had two dominant political parties.
Odumakin said, “In our political sphere, having a two-party system is like having a one-party state. When you look at the character of the politicians who are in the parties that appear to have dominion, they are not different from each other.

Lagos State Introduces ''MERRIMENT TAX'' For Every Party Celebration ( What Do You Think?)



Have you ever heard of merriment tax? Lagos State Government says residents of Lagos spend more than N1 billion on merriment and entertainment monthly.

The state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, MrAdemorin Kuye, gave the figure at a news conference organised to mark Gov.Babatunde Fashola`s sixth year in office.

He said the figure was derived from a research recently conducted by the Ministry of Budgeting and Planning, which showed that the residents spent a lot of money on entertainment. Kuye lamented that the benefits of entertainment had not been fully tapped to boost revenue generation in terms of taxes. "There is merriment tax in the constitution, it is part of the rates local governments can collect. We have not fully utilised the benefit of the entertainment industry in this state. "Over N1 billion is spent monthly in Lagos state on entertainment, we have the records to confirm this and these people, how many of them pay tax?

Terrorist Anders Breivik wants to set up his Party





Terrorist Anders Breivik has decided to create his own party -"Fascist Party of Norway and the Northern League."
A representative of the structures responsible for registration of such initiatives, explained that Breivik’s application does not meet legally required preconditions. "To create an association at least two people are required, while the application form features just Breivik," - he said.
In addition, the document does not have the necessary business-legal structure, governing the party’s activity.
Breivik's lawyer Tur Yordet has said he will file a new request that will meet all legal standards.
On July 22, 2011 Breivik went on a bombing and shooting spree in the government district of the Norwegian capital, killing eight people and shooting 69 at a youth camp of Norway's Labour Party on the island of Utoya. He was sentenced to 21 years in prison.

Boy killed on his way to 16 year old birthday party after popping his head out from bus



A teen on his way to a sweet 16 party was killed, after he popped out his head from a bus and hitting an overpass on the highway.

Daniel Fernandez, of Sayreville, New Jersey, was one of 65 teenagers on the bus Friday night while crossing the George Washington Bridge in New York, said the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey police. The 16-year-old was pronounced dead at a hospital.

2015: Opposition Coalition Floats New Party, All Progressive Congress (APC)



The Four major opposition political parties, ACN, CPC, ANPP and APGA after a meeting in Abuja some few hours ago, announced the emergence of a new political party -  the All Progressive Congress (APC).The  chairman of ACN merger committee and the spokesman of the coalition told journalists that with the formation of the new party, the opposition parties would commence the processes of registering it with INEC.

Drama At Election Petition Tribunal As Two Individuals Claim Party Chairmanship



It was drama of some sorts at the Ondo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on Tuesday when two persons each claimed to be the state chairman of Accord Party (AP). They were both subsequently walked out of the courtroom.
The development, however, made the Justice Andovar Kaka’an-led three-member team to reserve further action on the petition of the party until it was able to settle the chairmanship issue. The AP had, in its petition, accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of disenfranchising its candidate, Mr Olawale Ojo, from participating in the October 20 governorship poll.

Man Dies On Christmas Day, Wife Throws Party A Few Hours Later



In an extraordinary incident, a Mahatshula woman in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe hosted a party after the death of her husband.According to sources, the party was held on Christmas Day just a few hours after the woman's husband died. The woman, Nomasonto Zikhali is said to have lost her husband, Khumbulani Ncube, who died on Christmas day.

Driver killed by LASTMAmen Planned New Year party





A commercial driver, Mr. Isaac Popoola, who was allegedly beaten to death on Monday by two officials of the Lagos State Transportation Management Authority, had before his brutal killing, started preparing for the Yuletide celebration. The deceased’s son, Ibukunoluwa, told our correspondent, at the family residence in Akowonjo, Egbeda area of the state on Tuesday that his father had fixed January 2, 2013 for the celebration.

Ghana Turns Deadly As Party Supporters Clash Over Election Results





Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) today stabbed a National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporter around Nkrumah circle in Accra according to police authorities.
The controversy over last Friday's election has degenerated in the last few days as supporters of Mr. Nana Akufo-Addo rejected the results of the election claiming it was marred by fraud. Mr. Akufo-Addo has vowed to test the results of the election before the courts.
However, his supporters have grown increasingly restless and embarked street protests and sometimes attacked journalists in the nation's capital.

Truth is alive



Niyi Akinnaso is saying nothing but the truth. Moreover, neither the Action Congress of Nigeria nor the Peoples Democratic Party has any moral justification to aspire to rule in Ondo State because their men ruled the state at separate times and failed to perform. Just as it happened in Edo State, Olusegun Mimiko’s victory confirms once again that truth is still alive.
