 AMBy large opportunity, she'd fallen sleeping putting on her glasses. Slowed by the spectacles 'frame', the slug put it self in the link of her nose, wounding Bryant but sparing her young life.

"I may have been dead. I am happy that the glasses saved me," the teen told KOMO.

  "I fell sleeping with my glasses on, and the glasses saved where the bullet was."

KIRO said firing suspects went by the house twice, spraying it with bullets each time. Police said Bryant wasn't the intended target. Police believe the firing was gang-related and allege that somebody who exists in the house features a group affiliation.

A magnitude 6.7 quake struck in the Indian Ocean east-northeast of Christmas Island on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The quake was recorded at a depth of 6.9 miles at a distance of 108 miles east-northeast of the Australian territory at 1647 GMT, the USGS said.
