Man, 25, Rapes 13-Year-Old Girl The Whole Night On Christmas Day

A 13-year-old girl had a nightmarish Christmas Day after she was abducted by a man who took her to his house and raped her the whole night.
This heartrending incident was heard when the alleged rapist, Thandazani Nyoni (25) of Kensington,  appeared before the magistrate court for contravening section 65 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act Chapter 9:23, rape.
He was not asked to plead.

The State's case as presented by Mr Marlvin Nzombe, is that on 25 December last year at around 7pm, the complainant (name withheld) was at a business centre, when Nyoni approached her and bought her some biscuits.

It was heard that the teenage girl asked him why he was being so generous by buying her biscuits but the man told her not to worry.

It is said that the unsuspecting girl accepted the biscuits and after some minutes she decided to go home.

While on the way home, Nyoni allegedly followed her asked her if she was not afraid to go home alone but the girl told him that she was not.

However the accused person would have none of it and approached her from the behind and got hold of her and lifted her.

The court heard that the complainant tried to scream but the accused person closed her mouth.

It is said Nyoni then took the hapless girl to his house where he allegedly undressed her and raped the whole night. The court further heard that the girl tried to cry for help but it was in vain as there was no one nearby to rescue her. The following day at around 5am the accused woke up and went to work.

Later on at around 7am, the complainant's brother-in-law went to Nyoni's room in order to change his clothes before going to work but could not believe his eyes when he saw the complainant asleep there.

He left the room and asked the accused what she was doing there and was told that the girl was his lover.

The shocked brother-in-law went to report the matter to the complainant's sister who reported the matter to police leading to the arrest of the accused person.

The girl was taken to hospital for medical attention.

Nyoni was remanded in custody to 14 January this year.
