Confab: Drama as Odili denies owning Abuja’s ‘biggest private hospital’






There was mild drama on Tuesday at the National Judicial Institute, NJI, Abuja, venue of the ongoing National Conference, when a delegate, Sidi Ali, said the biggest private hospital being built in Abuja is owned by a former Governor of Rivers State.

Delegates continued their deliberations on the report of the Committee on Devolution of Power and what took the attention of most delegates in their contribution was the issue of increasing the derivation allocation from the present 13 per cent.

Drama as soldiers stop, search Tambuwal’s car

A mild drama ensued in Kaduna on Monday after soldiers stopped the motorcade of the Speaker of the House of Representatives,   Aminu Tambuwal, and searched his official car.
Findings showed that Tambuwal, who was in the flagged car on his way to the venue of an international conference on security, was asked to wind down his window glass to the surprise of other VIPs, who drove past the same route.
This made the security details attached to Tambuwal to   protest but   the soldiers stood their ground. Some of the soldiers were said to have insisted that they were acting on “orders from above.”

Pastor Arrested For "Boko-Haram" "Drama" In Osun State Elombah




The little town of Ikonifin in Ola Oluwa Local government area of Osun State was thrown into an uproar when a church leader’s, Pastor Olatoke’s, ploy to “duplicate” Boko Haram in the vicinity was foiled by some sprightly youths. The ploy would have placed Muslims living in Ikonifin in a very sore light if the attempt by Pastor Olatoke was successful.

The pastor of the Baptist church Ikonifin, who is also the CAN President of Ola Oluwa Local Government, was reported to have conspired with three members of his church, Emmanuel Atanda, Pitter Oyedepo and Ogunniyi Babatope to dress like Boko Haram militants and use turban to cover their faces.

“We don’t kill policemen except on special occasion", drama in Court as Notorious Robbers Beg for Amnesty



There was a mild drama at the office of the Lagos State Police Commissioner in Ikeja on Friday as three suspects, who were arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, were paraded before the House Committee on Police Affairs.
The suspects, Abiodun Ogunjobi, aka Godogodo; Felix Sunday, aka K Money; and Nwanyim Uche; pleaded for amnesty.

Serious Matter: Drama in court as lawyer, client quarrel over dud cheque



A mild drama unfolded at the Surulere Magistrate’s court, Lagos, after a woman alleged to have presented a dud cheque to her lawyer as payment for his legal services, attempted to out smart him. The client, a staff of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN, one Mrs Nnenna Christiana Olusile, appeared in court with a new lawyer, prompting the Magistrate, Mrs R.B Lawal, to as why. Unknown to her, her previous lawyer, Charles Alonge was also in court.

The relationship between Olusile and her lawyer, as gathered, went sour following the former’s alleged refusal to pay him for his legal services on the case of stealing and obtaining items worth N300,000. Olushile, a resident of 16, Michael Akinwunmi Street Alakuko, in the outskirts of Lagos, was alleged to have specialized in hypnotizing sales girls and carting away goods in the shops.

Drama At Election Petition Tribunal As Two Individuals Claim Party Chairmanship



It was drama of some sorts at the Ondo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on Tuesday when two persons each claimed to be the state chairman of Accord Party (AP). They were both subsequently walked out of the courtroom.
The development, however, made the Justice Andovar Kaka’an-led three-member team to reserve further action on the petition of the party until it was able to settle the chairmanship issue. The AP had, in its petition, accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of disenfranchising its candidate, Mr Olawale Ojo, from participating in the October 20 governorship poll.

There was drama in Ikare, Akoko North-East of Ondo State on Friday when an Abuja-bound trailer was impounded by a team of soldiers deployed in the community for today’s governorship election in the state.
