Ogun Customs Assures Investors, Businessmen On FDI



The Nigerian Customs Service in Ogun state has assured investors and businesses of international best practices that would attract more Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).
The area controller of Customs, Ade Dosunmu also appealed for more support to reduce smuggling in the state. He added that Nigeria Customs Service has been able to facilitate trade which has developed rapidly, attributing the growth to instituting of international best practices. He mentioned that the establishment has been able to generate employment and revenue for the government.

Mufty-wearing police officers Disrupt Flag Off Of Rivers New PDP Secretariat



The crisis rocking the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) has continued to spiral, and this time into Rivers state.
Mufty-wearing police officers led by Sam Okaura disrupted the secretariat flag off ceremony of the Baraje –led faction of the PDP, the secretariat is supposed to be the Rivers state chapter of the party, after the Chief of Staff of the Rivers state Governor, Chubuike Amaechi declared the secretariat open in Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital today.

US media hid 2009 UN report showing Israel using chemical weapons against Palestinians



Little US media attention is being paid to claims from a UN commission and Russia that Syrian rebels, not government soldiers under President Bashar al-Assad’s control, were responsible for chemical weapons attacks on August 21 that killed over 300 Syrians. It is not the first time when major US media outlets cover events in favor of the White House policy.

APC asks Fashola, others to woo ‘rebel’ govs



The leadership of the All Progressive Congress has directed its governors to enter into talks with their aggrieved counterparts in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
The 11 APC governors, including Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State, it was gathered, had been asked to use their contact and speak with the governors on the possibility of defecting from their party.
Seven  PDP governors are at loggerheads  with the leadership of the PDP over the running of the party and other issues.

Judiciary aids corrupt Nigerians – Ribadu



A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has said there are many corrupt Nigerians getting away with corruption with the help of the judiciary.
He stated this in an interview he grantedZero Tolerance, a magazine published by the EFCC.
Reacting to a statement that former Delta Governor, James Ibori, was cleared of corruption by the judiciary in Nigeria, he asked, “How many people have been cleared by our judiciary?
“A judge even said one man should not even be taken to court. So, there are many Nigerians getting away with the help of the judiciary. The judiciary is also part of the challenge. Not to say that all judges are bad, no. There are judges that got a lot of them convicted.

Farida Waziri Is A Beast, Obasanjo And Atiku Should Work Together To Bring Down Jonathan – Femi Fani-Kayode



I am glad that President Olusegun Obasanjo has finally described the former Chairman of the EFCC, Farida Waziri, for the beast that she has always been and that he has commended my brother Nuhu Ribadu for his excellent record of service to our country.

However I must say that I think that it is ill-advised for Baba to be attacking Abubakar Atiku at this point in time. Two months ago he fired a similar salvo at Bola Tinubu as

Girl gets Six-Hour Jail sentence For Killing Her Rapist Father



A court in Uganda sentenced a teen age girl to a six-hour jail term for killing her rapist father
It was probably one of the most unusual sentences delivered in the country, but the case was just as unusual as it was heartrending.
The Masaka High Court presided over by Lady Justice Margaret Oumo Oguli, Monday heard that 18-year-old girl killed her father on May 8, after he had molested her.


It was not the first time he was doing so. The 58-year-old man had been molesting the daughter repeatedly from the time she was 13 years old.

Barely few weeks after the jubilation that greeted the commencement of international flights at the newly upgraded Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu; the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made its first arrest and cocaine seizure. The suspect, Chizoba Anselem Nwabuwa 32 year-old 400 Levels Fine and Applied Arts student was apprehended during the inward screening of passengers on an Ethiopian flight from Brazil enroute Addis-Ababa. He was found to have ingested liquid cocaine packed inside male condoms.

As a result of his poor handling of the ongoing ASUU strike, the Nigerian Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has impeached its current president Yinka Gbadebo and has replaced him with Jubril Ahmad, the vice-president.
In a statement obtained by Sahara Reporters, NANS Senate President Emaluyi Sunday Michael said Gbadebo was impeached at a meeting of stakeholders on September 7 under Section 49(1) of the constitution. That provision states: “The president can be impeached on the grounds of incompetence or as therefore by his attitude or action which can be classified/regarded as misconduct”.

Amaechi Receives Jonathan In Port Harcourt Nigeria



Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi today received President Goodluck Jonathan at the Port Harcourt Airport in Rivers State, southsouth Nigeria. Jonathan was on his way to Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, to attend a church programme. The President was received on arrival at the airport by Amaechi who has been embroiled in a running battle with Nyesome Wike, a points-man for Jonathan.

Proving his point further, he said; “Go and look at the condition or the qualification; go and look at the type of interaction that anybody holding that job will have with a similar organisation elsewhere; did Waziri have that type. What connection did she have with FBI, what relationship did she have with Metropolitan Police in London. It’s not a picnic,” Obasanjo said.

Lawyer and activist Mike Ozekhome released by Kidnappers



Almost three weeks after he was kidnapped, human rights lawyer & activist Mike Ozekhome (SAN) has reportedly been freed. He was freed at about 8am this morning by his kidnappers in Benin. Mr Ozekhome is said to be in the office of the State Security Service in Benin as of this morning.

Husband, Wife And Their 3-Month-Old Baby Found Dead In Their Home (PHOTO)



A middle aged man, Seyi Adewale, his wife, Felicia and their three-month-old daughter, Deborah, were on Tuesday, found dead in their room with the corpses already decomposing.
According to report, they just moved into their new house in Gbeganu area in Minna, Niger State last Saturday and they died that same night.

It was gathered that they switched on their generating at night, close to the room while the fume emitting from the set consumed them overnight and they never woke up to see the next day.

Pres. Jonathan appoints interm ministers to replace the nine sacked



President Jonathan didn't particularly give reasonsfor the mass sack that happened today but there are speculations in some quarters that it was politically motivated. Shhhhh, you didn't read this here but I heard that the nine ministers sacked today were nominated by the Governors that deflected to the new PDP aka Atiku's PDP. I guess the old PDP wan show say power pass power. Lol. Nigerian politicians.
