Ngige got a stong message, says Anambra community should Vote governor not “standby generator”.
Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Chris Ngige, has admonished the people of Enugwu Ukwu in Njikoka, LGA of Anambra State to rise and vote in a governor they can trust to deliver and improve their town based on pedigree, rather than a deputy governor they would merely claim.
Mr Ngige apparently referring to the running mate for one of the parties contesting next Saturday’s elections who hails from the town, told the crowd which followed his convoy after attending a burial ceremony in the town, that it was time the community took a clear position.

El-Rufai’s ‘lambasting’ Twitter post on Jonathan sparks debate
A
post on the Twitter page of a former Minister of the Federal Capital
Territory, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, describing President Goodluck Jonathan
as “docile”, has sparked a debate. El-Rufai, who is the Interim Deputy
National Secretary of the opposition All Progressives Congress, had on
Saturday quoted a tweet and its accompanying picture of one of his
followers, Lauretta Onochie, on his Twitter page, which some people
deemed anti-Jonathan.

Nigeria bank robbery: Four die in Lagos
Four persons, including a yet-to-be
identified soldier, have been killed in a robbery attack on Skye Bank
branch at Alaba Market, Lagos State. The incident, which took place last
Tuesday, was said to have occurred around 6pm, while money was being
transferred from the branch, which serves as a cash point, to a major
branch in the area.
An eyewitness on the condition of anonymity reveals, that the robbers arrived at the scene on a motorcycle. He said, “There were two men on the bike and they both wore masks. The motorcycle rider, however did not wear mask.

Israel urges world powers to not sign fast deal with Iran
Netanyahu
claimed he talked with the presidents of the United Claims, Russia and
France, in addition to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and British Prime
Minister Mark Cameron via phone that weekend.

US-funded project supported illegal mining, Afghan watchdog alleges
A project in Afghanistan funded by the US Defense Department provided equipment and money to a local police commander for the illegal extraction of chromite, an Afghan anti-corruption watchdog alleged Sunday.
The commander of the Afghan Local Police, a village protection force, in the eastern province of Kunar, extracted the chromite for more than a year, said Integrity Watch Afghanistan (IWA) in a report.
Nigeria spent ₦1.05 trillion on imported cars last year — Automotive
Nigeria spent about N1.05 trillion last year on importation of vehicles and spare parts, while its local car assembly plants suffered monumental loss in patronage, according to the Director General of the National Automotive Council (NAC), Alhaji Aminu Jalal.
Meanwhile, the Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria (PAN), which produced 90,000 cars in 1985, and had about 4,000 permanent employees, now produces about 3,000 vehicles annually with 250 staff, its Managing Director, Alh. Ibrahim Boyi, said.

Amaechi’ll soon dump PDP – APC
The
Interim National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress,
Mr. Lai Mohammed, on Saturday, said the party was optimistic that the
Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and other rebel Peoples
Democratic Party governors would join APC.
Mohammed told our source that they were still waiting for Amaechi to get back to them after consulting with President Goodluck Jonathan as he promised.
Nigeria now Manufacturing armoured vehicles

interest in armoured luxury vehicles increases among top class , some
Nigerian vehicle firms have intensified study work on the armouring
technology. Presently, an indigenous car manufacturer, Proforce Limited ,
has started the manufacturing of Armoured Personnel Carriers. Proforce
claimed it'd closed a pact with Defence Industries Firm and some
para-military organisations for the production.

Ondo subsidises dialysis for kidney patients
ONDO
State government has established a Kidney Care Centre to cater for
people with kidney diseases across the country. 15 kidney dialysis
machines have been installed in the centre located at the Medical
Village in Ondo town.
Speaking with Sunday Vanguard in Akure, the state Health Commissioner, Dr. Dayo Adeyanju, said a complete team of medical personnel is on ground in the Centre.
Adeyanju added that the facility will collaborate with the Kidney Center in Maryland to give first class treatment to patients at subsidized fees. The commissioner said the centre will not be free but the fees would be affordable.

ASUU Strike Update: ASUU Wants Watertight Deal From FG
Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities have given the Federal Government certain conditions to be met before the union could call off its four-month old strike.
