Egypt sets Muslim Brotherhood chief's trial for December 9



The trial of Muslim Brotherhood chief Mohammed Badie, charged with inciting violence against anti-Islamist protesters, was set for December 9 by an Egyptian court Sunday.

The state-run Middle East News Agency reported that 14 Islamists, including senior Brotherhood officials, will also stand trial

Muslim Cleric Conned Friend Of ₦9.5m



Isiaka Adeleke

A man who claims to be a Muslim cleric and uses that defraud gullible Nigerians has been arrested by operatives of the Special Fraud Unit, SFU, Ikoyi, Lagos, for allegedly defrauding one of his victims of N8 million.
The 34-year-old suspect, identified as Isiaka Adeleke, popularly known as Alfa, was said to have collected the sum from a childhood friend, who came for prayers for the expansion of his business.

Western countries are behaving in the Islamic world like a "monkey with a grenade," a Russian deputy prime minister said on Tuesday, as the United States and its allies mull the use of force against Syria.
"The West behaves towards the Islamic world like a monkey with a grenade," Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin, who is known for his sharp tongue, wrote on Twitter.

Egypt's PM Calls for dissolution of Muslim Brotherhood




Egyptian Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi has proposed the legal dissolution of the Muslim Brotherhood and the idea is being studied by the government, a government spokesman said.
Beblawi had made the proposal to the minister of social affairs - the ministry responsible for licensing non-governmental organisations, Sherif Shawky said.
"It is being studied currently," he said.

UPDATE: Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood Claims 34 of its supporters killed




A spokesman for Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood said 34 of its supporters were killed on Monday when they were fired upon at a sit-in outside the military facility where toppled President Mohamed Morsi is being held.

Murad Ali of the Brotherhood's Freedom and Justice Party said that shooting broke out in the early morning while Islamists staged a sit-in outside the Republican Guard barracks.
Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Gehad El-Haddad says hundreds of critically wounded are being taken to hospitals.
Locals on the ground say no warning shots fired before the security forces attacked. Ambulances are at the scene.

Egypt prosecutor issues arrest warrant for top Muslim Brotherhood Leader



The Egyptian prosecutor's office has ordered the arrest of the Muslim Brotherhood's top leader, Mohamed Badie, and his deputy, Khairat el-Shater, judicial and army sources have said.

Shater, a wealthy businessman seen as the Brotherhood's top political strategist, was the group's first choice candidate to run in last year's presidential election. But he was disqualified from the race due to past convictions, forcing Morsi to take his place.<

Muslim man gets 11 years jail after burning Bible



A Muslim man received a harsh prison sentenced after he burned the Bible, according to court proceedings in Egypt.
The Islamic preacher, who is known in Egypt for his hate speeches against Coptic Christians, was sentenced to 11 years in prison for burning a Bible in front of the U.S. embassy during a protest against an anti-Islam movie, last year.
An Egyptian court in Cairo sentenced Ahmed Abdullah on Sunday for insulting religion and for burning of a Bible. He was also fined 3,000 Egyptian pounds, or about $430.
Abdullah’s son was sentenced to eight years in prison and a fine of 2,000 Egyptian pounds, or $286 for his role in the Bible burning.

Muslim Couple Sue School That Banned Their Daughter's Hijab




A school is being sued by a Muslim couple after it banned pupils from wearing the traditional Islamic headscarf.They launched their legal battle with St Cyprian's Greek Orthodox primary in south London after withdrawing their nine-year-old from the school when she was banned from wearing one.The parents say it would be a sin for their daughter's head to be uncovered while in the presence of male teachers as she has 'reached puberty'.

According to a Muslim youth in kaduna,Mr Nazeer,he said that some Christians openly celebrated and jubilate the death of Yaradua, the same way We Muslims are now doing on Yakowa's death.

RESPONSE:

No single Nigerian celebrated Yar'dua's death in any form, either by a Christian or Muslim. The Time Yar'dua was the Nigerian President, no one bothered where he was a Christian or Muslim. The Religion issue is only a device used by Old and out-of-date Politicians to divide the common man to their advantage.

Nigerian Muslim Riot Leaves 4 Dead





KANO  - A mispronunciation taken to be blasphemous in Nigeria's north sparked a riot by Muslim youths Thursday, leaving four people dead as well as a church and shops burnt, police and residents said. "What happened in (the town of) Bichi was misinformation," Kano state police chief Ibrahim Idris told reporters. "Rumours went round that someone blasphemed the Prophet and there was a breakdown of law and order." Residents reported four people dead along with the church and Christian-owned shops burnt. Soldiers and policemen deployed in the town.

Muslim Leader Wants Veil For Female Students




Osogbo – Sheik Salaudeen Olayiwola, the President of Osun Muslim Community, has urged the state government to approve the use of hijab (veil) for Muslim female student in secondary schools.

Olayiwola, who made the call at a news conference on the Hijrah celebration slated for Nov. 15, said there was no secrecy attached to the use of veil in Islam.

Hijrah is the migration of the Holy Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina when his life was threatened by idol worshippers.

Mark urges Muslims to pray for Nigeria



Senate President David Mark has called on Muslim faithful to use the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace and stability in Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Paul Mumeh, in Abuja on Thursday.

Mark, in a goodwill message on the occasion, implored religious leaders to teach their followers on the right thing to do so that they would not deviate or depart from the truth, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
