12-Year-Old HIV-Infected Blood Victim Solicits Prayers



The 12-year-old girl who was given HIV-infected blood in a botched transfusion at a Saudi hospital has appealed for support and prayers. “I need you to stand by me and to pray for me,” Reham said in a video clip that has been widely distributed on social networks.
The case has sparked deep revulsion and outrage in Saudi Arabia where activists, focus groups and columnists have called for prompt action to help the girl and stringent measures against those found guilty of negligence. Messages of compassion and sympathy as well as gifts and flowers were delivered to Reham as doctors attempted to deal with her case.

Man Stabbed During Thre*some After Refusing To Change S*x Positions





A threesom* tryst turned into a disaster when a man was stabbed after refusing to change positions.
Orlando DeWitt was allegedly stabbed in the arm by Ashley Hunter, whom he had previously met in prison, reports The Smoking Gun. The tryst went down Feb. 8, after the two men left a bar and went back to Hunter's house for a party.
According to reports, DeWitt told police that he and a female partier began kissing on a couch, when Hunter joined in. The woman “began to perform oral s*x on Hunter" while DeWitt had intércourse with her, but when Hunter asked to switch positions DeWitt refused.

Well, as you must have guessed, most people didn't take the comparism lightly. One comment that caught my eyes was the one below. As far as I am concerned comparing Rihanna to Princess Diana is like comparing Chris Brown to Obama. Goodness, how is that even possible?

Gunmen Kidnap Seven Foreign Employees of Setraco in Bauchi



Seven foreign workers of giant construction company, Setraco, were kidnapped last night by gunmen in Bauchi. The attackers went to the Lebanese-owned construction site of Setraco in Jama'are town, where they killed a security guard and kidnapped the foreign workers Adamu Aliyu, the chairman of the local government area identified those kidnapped as one British citizen, one Greek, one Italian and four Lebanese.   Bauchi State Police Chief Mohammed Ladan told AFP that the unknown gunmen first attacked a local prison, burning two police trucks, before targeting Setraco, which is in the area building a road.

Edith Casas, 22, wed Victor Cingolani yesterday in a ceremony taking place less than a year into the groom's 13-year sentence for the murder of model Johana Casas.
The bride was pelted with stones and eggs as she emerged from the register office, while her husband, disguised in sunglasses and a beret, was rushed out of the back door to his cell.
The couple married in Pico Truncade in southern Argentina, the same city where Johana was shot twice in the head days before her 20th birthday in July 2010.

Governor Orji rewards youth corper with car for keeping virginity till marriage




THE Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji, has commended the Purity Organisation for promoting purity among youths and called on singles to strive to keep their virginity, which he described as their enduring priceless legacy.

The governor spoke in Umuahia on Wednesday while welcoming to his office the winner of the 2013 World Purity Queen, Mrs. Nwanyieze Prosper, who also won the car prize donated by the Purity Organisation, as a reward for maintaining her virginity till marriage.

“I challenge our youths to jealously preserve their virginity until they get married as the benefits of chastity are far reaching,“ he said.

Reps Move to Ban Use of Foreign Currencies ( Do You Support The Ban ?)



The House of Representatives, yesterday, moved to ban the use of foreign currencies in local and domestic transactions in Nigeria. This was sequel to a motion brought to the floor of the House by Hon Nadu Karibe, representing Bayelsa State. Karibe who led the debate had argued that “every country has its currency which serves as a means of exchange, a symbol of identity, a source of pride and a sign of independence and economic stability.”
He also observed that “without equivocation, the Naira is the only means of exchange for local and domestic transactions in Nigeria. There is a growing trend in the use of foreign currencies, especially the US Dollar for payments of school fees, hotel bills, real estate, rent and purchase in bars, night clubs, luxury good shops, in Nigeria.” He further argued that “this trend has led to the high demand of these foreign currencies, especially the US Dollars in Nigeria.”

Former Benue State Governor and Present Senator Dragged To Court Over Alleged Certificate Forgery



Former governor of Benue State and Senator representing Benue North-West Senatorial District of Benue State, George Akume, has been brought before a Federal High Court in Abuja over allegation of certificate forgery.

Akume was dragged before the court by one Phillip Agbese through his counsel, Amobi Nzelu. Agbese, a civil right activist, is praying for a declaration that Akume did not possess the West African Examination Council (WAEC) certificate number SCO 39633 allegedly issued to him by Government Secondary School Oturkpo, Benue State in 1971.

Protesters Flood Streets for Real Democracy in Bahrain

The supreme organizing committee for today's massive march announced that huge numbers of people participated in the massive pro-democracy march "Call of the Homeland", refusing decades of dictatorship and tyranny. The supreme committee estimates the total number of today's protesters with more than 280,000 Bahraini citizens.

All religious, political and different ethnics took part in today's huge march over its route of four kilometers long; which started from Shakhoora Roundabout to Duraz Roundabout, at the west of the Bahraini capital, Manama.

Protesters raised many banners with pro-democracy and counter dictatorship slogans, demanding a serious democratic transition in Bahrain.

What is your opinion on the state of politics in the country?
Politicians are forming alliances but they are doing this out of sheer desperation because they feel that the Peoples Democratic Party is becoming intimidating in all ramifications. They are afraid that the trend could force Nigeria to become a one-party state with the PDP dominating the scene. This is why people are looking for alliances. I hope it will work but such strategy hardly works because people have different reasons, different opinions for forming a political party, forgetting certain fundamentals.

Oteh: Senate Sings New Tune Over SEC budget



The Senate sang a new tune on Friday when it reacted to the decision of the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission to approve the 2013 budget of the commission without recourse to the National Assembly.
The board approved the budget, ignoring the joint resolution of the Senate and the House of Representatives demanding the sacking of the Director-General of the commission, Ms. Arunmah Oteh, on the grounds that she was not qualified to be appointed as the DG.
The resolution was later incorporated in the 2013 Appropriation Bill passed by both chambers on December 20, 2012.
Clause 10 of the bill  disallowed SEC from making any expenditure this year without the prior authorisation of the National Assembly.

N2.92bn fraud rocks police training schools

Thousands of police recruits who were trained in Lagos, Kaduna and Orji River police colleges might have been shortchanged to the tune of N2.92bn, aSUNDAY PUNCH investigation has shown.
A total of 2,900 recruits were trained at the Police College, Ikeja and 1,900 at the Orji River Police College, Enugu State.
A figure of 3,000 was reported as being the number of trainees in Kaduna.
These last set of recruits were trained for 15 months at the three police colleges and they graduated in December 2012. The recruits were at the training schools from between October 2011 to December 2012.

The crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party is set to take a turn for the worse as party stalwarts loyal to former President Olusegun Obasanjo have decided to have a showdown with the supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan.
The latest development follows the party’s decision to sack senior party officials known to be loyal to the former President from its National Working Committee.
 Investigations showed that the removal, announced on Friday, shocked the former President and his group.
The leadership of the PDP had on Friday sacked loyalists of Obasanjo in the National Working Committee. The Bamangar Tukur-led leadership is known to be loyal to President Jonathan.

Andrew Harvey, the British husband of the late singer and ex-Big Brother Africa housemate, Goldie, has said he had no problems with his late wife’s lifestyle, adding that he even encouraged her to be controversial because it is “marketable.”
Andrew told SUNDAY PUNCH during an online interview that his marriage to the singer was a happy one and they had only recently decided to have children together.
Asked if he agreed with Goldie’s controversial behaviour at the BBA house, he  said, “We (Goldie and I) knew the pitfalls of the show and understood the game strategy. I think she did very well, I said ‘make controversy because people love it.’”
Andrew, who is an engineer and has been married to the deceased since 2005, said he decided to stay in the shadows because of the nature of his job.
