Why I Can’t Be Chairman Where Buhari Is Present – IBB

The maiden edition of Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah Lecture Series in Minna, Nigeeri State, brought to the fore the atmosphere of friendship between former head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari, and former military president General Ibrahim Babangida as the latter conceded the chairmanship of the occasion to Buhari.
Babangida was reluctant to speak at the occasion as the chairman, but when pressed upon, got up and stated that he could not be chairman in an occasion where Buhari was present.

Inside the bathroom where Blade Runner' shot dead his girlfriend

The bathroom is now the focus of a murder inquiry.

Meanwhile Boxes of 'steroids, testosterone' and needles were found at the Blade Runner's home where he shot girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead after 'non-stop' arguing, a court heard today.
The details were revealed by the prosecution on the second day of the 26-year-old athlete's bail hearing at Pretoria Magistrates' Court where he faces a charge of premeditated murder.
Pistorius looked distraught and sobbed with his head lowered as the packed court heard the post-mortem showed three entrance wounds - the bullets hit the right side of Miss Steenkamp's head, her right elbow - which resulted in a broken arm - and her hip.

Nigerian Men: Where Has Your Mind Set Gone? ( Hibernated )

Below is a mail I got this morning from a disillusioned female reader...

please could you help me ask your male readers why men are so heartless? Don't they have mothers and sisters? How would they feel if someone was to mistreat them? How can a woman give you the best years of her life, and you still dump her like a piece of garbage? My younger sister dated this guy for five years here in the UK and in December 2012 he told her he was going to Nigeria to spend Christmas with his family. She wanted to go with him but he said that there was no need that he would be back in two weeks.

Opposition: We Demand Real Democracy and an End to Tyranny/ Where is The Media?

The Western media isn't covering Bahrain or Egypt. Just checked CNN, MSBC, FOX. They have the fight in Syria and the Pope retiring. Also, they are not covering the wars in Libya, Algeria, Mali, or the drone bombing in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran.
Protesters Flood Streets for Real Democracy in Bahrain

The supreme organizing committee for today's massive march announced that huge numbers of people participated in the massive pro-democracy march "Call of the Homeland", refusing decades of dictatorship and tyranny. The supreme committee estimates the total number of today's protesters with more than 280,000 Bahraini citizens.

All religious, political and different ethnics took part in today's huge march over its route of four kilometers long; which started from Shakhoora Roundabout to Duraz Roundabout, at the west of the Bahraini capital, Manama.

Protesters raised many banners with pro-democracy and counter dictatorship slogans, demanding a serious democratic transition in Bahrain.

Where is Stella Obasanjo’s son ?

Muyiwa and Imelse
Until his mother’s death via an unsuccessful surgery in 2005, little or nothing was known about Muyiwa Obasanjo, son of Nigeria’s former First Lady, Stella Obasanjo.  Her demise somewhat launched him into the limelight irrespective of the fact that he was resident abroad at that time. Although he retreated from the social sphere post- funeral, he was again in the news when he wedded Imelse, a citizen of Dominican Republic at a wedding that had all the trappings of luxury and thereafter relocated to Nigeria.
Many years after romancing the kleiglights   albeit impromptu, he has tactically withdrawn, causing many to wonder what he has been up to.

Downsize: The Fitness Gym Where Only The Overweight Is Welcome

It’s all about creating a more welcoming environment to battle the bulge and drop the excess weight.
At Downsize Fitness health clubs, the treadmills are wider, the head trainers are weight-loss veterans and new members must be at least 50 pounds (22.7 kgs) overweight.
Francis Wisniewski, a hedge fund manager, started Downsize Fitness in 2011, when he was struggling to lose weight and found himself intimidated by one-size-fits-all gyms.
“I figured if I was uncomfortable, a lot of people must be. Overweight people feel like they’re on display,” said Wisniewski, who has gyms in Dallas and Chicago.

I’ve Never Seen A Country Where The Central Bank Sells Dollars To Bureau De Change – Boyo

A foremost Nigerian economist, Mr. Henry Boyo has accused the Central Bank of Nigeria of implementing faulty monetary policies that are holding the Nigerian economy to ransom. Mr. Boyo made the remarks at the ‘Nigeria Fiscal and Monetary Crisis: The Way Out,’ which was organized by the Save Nigeria Group in order to mark the one-year anniversary of the Occupy Nigeria movement. According to him, “I’ve never seen a country where the Central Bank sells Dollars to Bureau de Change,” said Mr. Boyo… We even pride ourselves with giving agricultural loans at the rate of seven per cent, whereas in serious economies, it is as low as zero per cent.”

Chime: Where are the people of Enugu?

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter”
—Martin Luther King, Jnr.
It should be of utmost concern to the indigenes of Enugu State that the peaceful state   is gradually drifting into a state of anarchy, following the intrigues playing out on the whereabouts of the state governor, Sullivan Chime. It is obvious now that the absence of Governor Chime for more than four months has truncated the political hierarchy of the state, thereby turning Enugu  into a motionless and ungoverned state! Unfortunately, the people of the state have been pretending that all is well, while on the contrary, the state  is sitting on  the keg of gun powder!
