Bisi Akanda talks about Buhari, Jonathan, Amaechi and 2015

You were quoted as saying that the All Progressives Congress is not so keen on the presidency come 2015. What then is your focus?
I will rather say I was misquoted. How would there be a major party in 2013 and such party will not be keen about 2015? We are very much keen about 2015. The only thing I said, maybe, beclouded the one I did not say. What I said was that our preoccupation as an interim leadership of the APC was to mobilise and register members, to conduct congresses and convention to establish a good structure, a durable structure for the new party and that the priority now is the Anambra election and possibly, the Delta State senatorial election which will come up anytime from now.

2015: Buhari to contest APC presidential primary

Fomer Head of State Maj.-Gen. Buhari is likely to contest presidential primary of the All Nigeria Peoples Party.  His loyalists told SUNDAY PUNCH that despite the anti-Buhari lobby in the APC, the general would contest the primary.

The first group consists of senior Northern politicians who want the general to bury his ambition in order for a younger northerner to contest the presidential primaries. This group is also said to be shopping for a guarantee that the general will support whoever emerges as the presidential candidate of the party.

We’ll push out PDP in 2015 – Buhari

A veteran presidential candidate and a major stakeholder in the newly-registered All Progressives Congress, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) on Tuesday said the new party was determined to push out the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in 2015.

But the PDP said on Tuesday that Buhari, who ruled Nigeria as a military Head of State between 1983 and 1985, was day-dreaming.

I know Tinubu, I know Buhari, they cannot mix – Bode George

Chief Olabode George, former military governor of Ondo State and former Deputy National Chairman, People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in this interview, responds to topical issues in the polity and his party. Excerpts: President Goodluck Jonathan, the leader of your party is in the eye of the storm over 2015. How do you feel?
Nigeria has come this far because the concept of the PDP constitution has sustained democracy up till now.  Never in the history of our nation have we been able to sustain democracy from 1999 and we are now in 2013: that is talking about 14 years.  Never!

So, there is no need to pull anybody down because the man you pull down will also pull you down and so, where have you gone?  And it is there in Romans Chapter 14 that whosoever that God has given an authority, he did not get there by his own effort.  Let us support him.  He is our leader and it is our nation.
