We’ll change House leadership, APC Reps insist



Members of the House of Representatives, particularly those of the All Progressives Congress caucus are bent on changing the leadership of the House as lawmakers resume sitting on Tuesday next week.  The APC gained a slim numerical advantage over the Peoples Democratic Party before the lawmakers proceeded on the Christmas/New Year break on December 19.  Thirty-seven former PDP members had defected to the APC on the floor of the House, citing “division” in the PDP as the reason for their action.

Don’t be scared: Climate change forecasts were wrong



Top climate scientists have admitted their global warming forecasts are wrong and our planet is not heating at the rate they claimed it was. The final draft of a report to be published by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) later this month.

U.S Judge Orders Parent To Change Their Baby’s Name From 'Messiah' To 'Martin'




A Tennessee judge has ordered a baby’s first name changed from “Messiah” to Martin, saying that the only true messiah is Jesus Christ, a ruling the boy’s mother promises to appeal, a Tennessee television station has reported.

“The word ‘messiah’ is a title, and it’s a title that has only been earned by one person, and that one person is Jesus Christ. And the child would likely struggle with his given first name because he lives in Cocke County, a predominantly Christian area in eastern Tennessee“, the Judge said.

Nigeria Has Been Stagnant for So Long, It Is Time to Change – Obasanjo



Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Wednesday tasked political leaders to adopt practical measures to accelerate effective utilisation of human and natural resources for sustainable development in the country.
Obasanjo gave the challenge while speaking at the maiden Jigawa Economic and Investment Summit in Dutse.
The summit was organised by the state as part of the activities to mark the 2013 Democracy Day celebration.
The major highlight of the summit was to encourage investment on agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), solid minerals and small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs).
Obasanjo said that Nigeria was endowed with abundant natural and human resources, which could be transformed to the social and economic benefit of the people.

Man Stabbed During Thre*some After Refusing To Change S*x Positions





A threesom* tryst turned into a disaster when a man was stabbed after refusing to change positions.
Orlando DeWitt was allegedly stabbed in the arm by Ashley Hunter, whom he had previously met in prison, reports The Smoking Gun. The tryst went down Feb. 8, after the two men left a bar and went back to Hunter's house for a party.
According to reports, DeWitt told police that he and a female partier began kissing on a couch, when Hunter joined in. The woman “began to perform oral s*x on Hunter" while DeWitt had intércourse with her, but when Hunter asked to switch positions DeWitt refused.

CBN revokes licences of 236 Bureaux de Change





The Central Bank of Nigeria on Wednesday withdrew the licences of 236 Bureau de Change operators. 
The bank, in a circular made available to our correspondent, said the withdrawal of the licences took effect from Monday, January 14, 2013. The circular read in part, “This is to inform all authorised dealers and buyers (BDC operators) and the general public that the operating licences of the Bureau de Change companies stated below are hereby revoked, with effect from January 14, 2013.

Former Head of State and three time Presidential candidate, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has said the ongoing merger talks by the major opposition political parties will determine if he will run for president in 2015.Buhari said this in Abuja on Wednesday while fielding questions from reporters after inaugurating the Congress for Progressive Change Merger Committee.The 18-member committee is saddled with the responsibility of having talks with the Action Congress of Nigeria on the proposed merger.

“I’m Still A Man”: -Iron Mike Tyson Denies S*x Change Spoof





Former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world “Iron” Mike Tyson has issued a statement via an African website denying stories claiming he has had a sex change after undergoing a successful 16-hour operation. The bizarre story stems from a spoof news item from a British satirical website, which hoodwinked a number of online publications in Africa.  Some quotes attributed to Tyson in the story stated: “Some people might think it strange that I’m now a woman.
