Nigerian Woman Dies: Tolu Kalejaiye Stabbed To Death by Son in her London Home
On Thursday the 26th of September, 2013, the family of Mrs Tolu Kalejaiye, a London-basedaccountant and mother were shocked when they learnt of her untimely death.
The 46-year-old hardworking mother was found stabbed to death at her house in Wickford, Essexaround 10 am on Thursday morning. As we speak, her 21-year-old son, Oladotun Emmanuel Kalejaiye has been charged for her murder.

Prof. Wole Soyinka Escaped Death In Nairobi Kenya Mall Assault
Speaking at a press conference at the Freedom Park, Victoria Island, Lagos, on Friday in honour of the late Ghanaian poet, Professor Kofi Awoonor who died in the attack, Soyinka led a group of eminent Nigerian writers to condemn the Nairobi massacre. An Oklahoma man has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly killing a man who commented on a picture his girlfriend posted of herself on Facebook.Police say Antwion Courtez Martin, 20, went to the apartment of Edmond James Tyree, 48, on July 17 and shot him dead. He also allegedly shot and wounded Tyree’s visiting friend Michael Joe Hale.

Warders Beat Prisoner To Death, Sparking Inmate Revolt In Adamawa Prison
Inmates in a prison in Numan, Adamawa State on Monday staged demonstrations against prison officials over the death of an inmate who was brutally beaten by warders.
Armed soldiers were drafted to the prison for fear that the protest by inmates could spill over into uncontrollable violence, SaharaReporters learned from a prison source as well as a security official. One of the sources disclosed that numerous inmates suffered injuries in the cause of their revolt. He added that prison officials were yet to determine if any inmates escaped in the course of the commotion.

Shekau’s ‘death’: We reserve our comment, says FG
The Federal Government has said it will not get involved in the controversy over the military Joint Task Force claim that the leader of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, might have died after being fatally wounded during a gun duel with the Nigerian Army.
The JTF spokesman, Lt.-Col. Sagir Musa, had said in a statement that Shekau sustained serious gunshot wounds in an encounter with the troops in one of their camps at Sambisa Forest on June 30, 2013 and that it was believed that he was dead.

The university town of Nsukka in Enugu State has witnessed yet another brutal death as a tipper driver who allegedly impregnated a widow and her daughter has reportedly been burnt to death by son of the widow, Sunday Ugwoke. The tipper driver, Sylvester Ezema, attached to Ferguson Nig. Limited, hailed from Akpa Edem, Nsukka Local Government Area, Enugu State and shared a common fence with his widowed lover, Mrs. Ugwoke. Reports said he had been having amorous dealings with the woman’s daughter too, unknown to the widow.

Everyday, Mallam Yahaya goes to work at Government Secondary School, Mamudo, where he serves as the vice principal; to meet soldiers, a few teachers and no students. His life is a nightmare as he relives the massacre of twenty-two of his students and one teacher.
Every day, since that tragic day – July 6, 2013 – he goes to school and tries to clean up evidence of the massacre. Try as much as he can, the blood remains. The surviving students are too traumatised to resume; their parents are not sure they ever will.

Angry Mob Beat Policeman To Death For Killing Trader
The Lagos State Police Command has commenced investigations into the killing of a police corporal, Ado Ayuba, who was lynched by some hoodlums in Suru Alaba area of the state.
Mob beat policeman to death for killing trader
According to the police, the victim was beaten to death by an irate mob for allegedly killing a trader, Mustapha Mohammed, on July 30, 2013.
PUNCH learnt that Ayuba and another policeman were deployed to the scene to chase away traders who had illegally taken over a portion of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
