Sacked Air Nigeria Workers May not Get their Pension

Chinedu Eze
There are indications that the over 700 workers of the now-rested Air Nigeria who were sacked last year may not secure the 25 per cent of their pension deposits.
This is because they were not issued with disengagement letters and the company which relieved them of their jobs did not communicate to the Pension Commission (PENCOM) that they have been sacked, THISDAY has learnt.
The workers are eligible to receive 25 per cent of their contributions to the scheme after they have remained unemployed six months after their sack, but that hope seems to have been dashed as the workers who lost their jobs when the company closed on September 10, 2012 may not receive the contributions, unless the Chairman of the company, Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim, intervenes.

Nigeria regulator says lifts capital market ban on Ecobank

Nigeria's stock market regulator said on Thursday it had lifted a suspension on Ecobank from capital market activities, imposed last month because of irregularities surrounding a margin loan.
"The suspension on Ecobank has been lifted ... they can now participate in capital market activities," Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) spokesman, Yakubu Olaleye, said.
Last month, the SEC said an Ecobank client Arian Capital Management had used capital from another company as collateral for a margin loan from Ecobank. After suspending Arian, the SEC also suspended Ecobank pending an explanation.
Ecobank said at the time the ban would not affect it because its Nigeria arm no longer deals in secondary markets. The sum of the loan was just 11 million naira ($69,400), the bank said. ($1 = 158.5000 naira) (Reporting by Chijioke Ohuocha; editing by Tim Cocks and James Jukwey

Heartless: Woman kills husband, sets his body on fire - Photo (viewer discretion advised!)

A woman named Esther Peter (pictured above) on Tuesday April 16th allegedly killed her husband, Kenneth Peter Anayo, then set his body on fire at their home at NEPA Phase I Road, Ijagemo, around the Ikotun area of Lagos. Neighbours said the couple was always fighting in public and in fact there was a serious fight between them a few days before the Tuesday incident, where Esther stabbed her husband with a broken bottle and he had to be treated at the hospital. Neighbours said they noticed that Esther and Peter's room was on fire around 2am that Tuesday morning and when they went there to help, they noticed that the room was locked from the outside. They managed to break down the door, and that was when they saw the burnt remains of Kenneth. Esther and her son were nowhere to be found.

Esther was later found around the area with her belongings in a bag trying to escape. Neighbours handed her over to the police from the Isheri-Oshun division, who later came to remove Kenneth's remains. (A LIB reader was there live and took some photos). Esther, who is from Cross River told police that the fire was caused by the candle lit in their room while she went to fetch water but couldn't explain why the door was locked from the outside and why she had all belongings in a bag. Police say they have every reason to believe Kenneth was killed being burnt.

The case is being handled by the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos. See the photo after the cut.

Former Head of State and Congress for Progressive Change presidential candidate in the 2011 presidential election, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has said he will not disappoint Nigerians if given the mandate to lead in 2015.

The following day, her corpse was deposited at Crystal Hospital by Isaac. Her throat had been slit with a knife from inside her kitchen. RCC Exposed! Redeemed Pastor Adeboye In N20b Fraud!

Nigeria is one liberally sentimental society where what you write or say about religious idols are quick to be termed as blasphemy but truth be told, Nigerians are being taken for granted and it`s high time we take our destiny in our hands by making our leaders answerable to some of the financial calamities the country has been plunged into over the years.
By estimation, according to international analysts, Nigeria is meant to be one of the most prosperous nations in the world owing to its staggering production of about 2.4 million barrels of oil everyday and with the price of oil pegged at $93.61 a barrel, our dear country earns a whopping $224 million income a day, and this is just from crude oil sales. With its geopolitical power and economic resources, I doubt if any country would have the power and financial might to change the course of black/African civilization like Nigeria had our leaders not corrupt.

See How Frequent Consumption Of Coffee Affects The Size Of The Br-éast - Research

Frequent Consumption of Coffee Affects The Size Of The Br-east
Women who regularly consume coffee need to be prepared for the fact that their br-éasts begin to decrease over time. First of all, this applies to those who drink coffee several times a day.

Swedish researchers from Lund University conducted an unusual study, where 300 women participated. They all drank coffee on a daily basis, and the researchers recorded changes in br-éast size. Scientists argue that a pattern has been revealed: participants that where drinking more than three cups of coffee a day on average lost 17% of the volume of the br-éast.
However, according to scientists, coffee can have a positive impact on the health of women, reducing the risk of developing br-éast cancer. In addition, a drink can influence the level of male hormones in the female body, which is also associated with an increased risk of br-éast cancer.
It seems that everything is good in moderation!

How oil dealers used ‘dead’ vessel to dupe Nigeria of N1.5bn
