Confession of Boko Haram member: Why we can't submit/Surrender.



“Sometimes, I feel guilty of committing crimes against God. But our commanders always tell us that it is God’s work that we are doing. It is a terrible thing to be a member of the sect, but many foot soldiers of Boko Haram like me, cannot leave for fear of being killed.”

That was part of the confessions of a 22-years old fighter of the dreaded Boko Haram sect who was arrested on 6 October by security operatives and has since been helping them in their investigations.

Tens of thousands "Nuclear slaves" discovered at Fukushima



An in-depth journalistic investigation uncovered that tens of thousands of unemployed Japanese were tricked into working underpaid and highly dangerous jobs on the area of Fukushima's nuclear disaster. The  most disturbing aspect of the scheme is that Yakuza behave as enforcers who keep consitently the "nuclear slaves" from complaining or leaving their jobs.
On Friday, Reuters published the results of its investigation of working conditions of the people that are dealing with the aftermath of the nuclear incident at Fukushima. Journalists discovered a number of individuals employed in decontamination activities were employed by subcontractors of TEPCO, the giant utility company that owns Fukushima nuclear power plant.

Nigerians Pour to the street To Protest Against The Call For Sack Of Stella Oduah



Business activities were, Saturday, paralyzed at the Akanu-Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, although temporarily, as hundreds of Igbo youths, beneath the aegis of Igbo Progressive Union (IPU), embarked on a peaceful protest against the calls for the sack of Oduah on the controversial armoured cars.

The kinsmen of the embattled minister from Ogbaru local government part of Anambra State, led by High
Chief George Nwabueze, also exonerated her from any wrong doing in the purchase of the cars. Nwabueze said that the prospective of those calling for the top of Oduah was President Goodluck Jonathan whose second term ambition in 2015 they've vowed to avoid by all means.

Sad News : Boy, 3, dies while hugging electrocuted mum



On Wednesday, October 16, a day after Muslim folks celebrated Sallah, tragedy struck at Oniwaya Junction, Agege, Lagos, as a high tension cable electrocuted four people in the area. A female, identified as Mrs. Oluwajedalo but popularly called Iya Fathia, survived the electrocution but lost his three-year-old son, Ayomide, who ran towards her and embraced her as electric shock overtook her.

Lagos Passengers Stranded As BRT Employees Join ASUU Strike



Commuters in Lagos, western Nigeria, were stranded, Saturday morning, when workers with the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT scheme refused to act as they protested their unpaid salaries. The commuters, who expected to board the bus after the monthly sanitation, were left to bemuse their fate once the boarding points at Ketu and Ojota bus stops were  empty.  It was revealed that the ticketers and drivers refused to act as their salary for last month hadn't been paid-a situation which they're not used to.

Just in: Two planes collide at Lagos airport MMIA



There was a minor accident on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, involving a Turkish Airline aircraft and a Max Air plane. The Turkish Airline plane wings collided with that of Max Air plane which had brought in Pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. Our Source learnt that the Turkish Airplane had landed safely but was taxiing to stop at the airport’s apron when its wing collided with that of Max Air.

The other day I was at the departure hall at Nnamdi Azikewe airport waiting for my flight. I was tucked away at a corner, from people's preying eyes, at least so I thought. My flight was delayed so I had about 2hrs to kill. As I reached into my backpack to get my iPad and keep myself busy till boarding time, a man with two teen girls approached me; they were all beaming with the most enchanting smiles I have ever seen.  "Charly these are my daughters, they’ve been worrying me that they want to take pictures with you” I obliged, as their father took position to capture a golden moment for his two teen daughters.

74 ‘suspected’ Boko Haram fighters killed in raid – Nigerian army



Nigeria’s army said Friday it had killed 74 suspected Boko Haram fighters in a raid on insurgent camps in restive Borno state, the latest operation in the military’s bid to crush a four-year Islamist uprising.

“The operations, which involved ground and aerial assault…led to the destruction of the identified terrorists camps, killing 74 suspected militants,” area army spokesman Mohammed Dole said of the Thursday raid in Borno in the northeast, Boko Haram’s stronghold.
The strike targeted two villages in the Mainok local government area, not far from Borno’s capital of Maiduguri, where Boko Haram was founded more than a decade ago.

The Federal High Court Awards Ownership Of $15 Million James Ibori Bribe Money To Federal Government.



The ownership of the $15 miliion that ex-Delta state governor James Ibori allegedly used as a bribe has been awarded to the Federal Government.

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja ruled that the Delta state government failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the sum belongs to it.
The Delta state government claimed ownership of the money allegedly given by Mr. Ibori, as bribe to stave-off arrest by former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
