Is TB Joshua Secretly Working For Jonathan's Ambition?

A source at the Presidency in Abuja said Prophet TB Joshua has so much control over President Goodluck Jonathan right now that whatever he requests is granted without delay because the president believes that the prophet holds the spiritual key to his electoral success in 2015.

FULL STORY: Is TB Joshua Secretly Working For Jonathan's Ambition?

Sources have told Sahara Reporters that last week’s “judicial decision” which set Hamza Al-Mustapha free of murder charges is owed to President Goodluck Jonathan, who was following a “spiritual” fortune-telling that would enable him to win the 2015 election.

Pastor TB Joshua, who has Mr. Jonathan eating out of his hands, has been identified as the person who told the Nigeria leader that his political fortune rests with setting Al-Mustapha free.

In addition, Mr. Joshua has also told Mr. Jonathan if he is to win in 2015, he needs to bring back to Nigeria James Ibori, the former Delta State governor who is currently serving a 13-year jail term in the United Kingdom.

Right engine of British Airways plane stops working before take-off at Abuja Airport

We got a call this yesterday from one  Ọmọ Oódua reader inside a British Airways flight at the Abuja International Airport. They told us that the BA 8:30 flight to London was preparing to take off when the right engine of the plane just stopped working. They heard a noise and then smoke. The plane had to be towed back to the tarmac.

As at the last time we spoke with one of them, engineers were trying to fix the engine. We even heard the pilot making an announcement. They are not sure if the flight will continue or if it will be cancelled, but they are all still inside the plane at the moment. BA has been given 40 minutes to fix the engine or the flight will be cancelled...for safety reasons. Will keep you .

Update: All passengers have been asked to leave the plane
Update 2: The flight has been cancelled

FG Working Hard To Restore Peace – Vice President, Sambo

The Federal Government will continue to work tirelessly to ensure safety of lives and property in all parts of the country, Vice President Namadi Sambo made the promise on Sunday when he paid a visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
The Emir recently returned to the country after a medical sojourn abroad following an attack on his convoy by gunmen in Kano.
Sambo’s promise came barely 24 hours after members of an Islamic sect, Ansaru, reportedly killed the seven foreigners they had earlier taken hostage from a construction site in Bauchi Stage.

I Can't Ban Okada Because I Belong To The Working Class -Oshiomhole

A few states have banned okada. Do you have any plans to do same?
I think it’s, for me, a class issue and I belong to the working class, so I cannot ban Okada. First, I believe that okada is a response to certain deficit in our intra-urban transportation system. From the 60s to the 70s to the 80s, we never had okada. I

f you ask a lady to take a ride on a motorbike it was like a taboo. Now it has became fashionable to have a woman and two children on top of a bike. It is not a culture choice. It is as a result of deficit in our intra-city transportation system.

If I must get rid of them, I should provide an alternative first. For me, the way to deal with it is to deal with the supply side. By this I mean, provide good city transportation, then people would have to choose among a taxi that is available, a comfortable and clean bus that is available, and an Okada.

People would now choose what will offer them more comfort. So, it is the result of certain weaknesses in our transportation system, and I think it can only be solved by dealing with those weaknesses. I cannot use state power to prohibit Okada. I am not sure of the legal status of doing that.
