2015 ELLECTION: Jonathan to retain Sambo as running mate

In the face of plot against Vice-President Namadi Sambo by some vested interests in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan has foreclosed dropping him as running mate in the 2015 elections.
As such, those lobbying to replace Sambo as running mate to President Jonathan may be disappointed after all.
In the past weeks, Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shema has been pushing to be named as a replacement for Sambo in the 2015 presidential election. A source in the Presidency told National Mirror that Shema has enlisted the support of the Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadhome, in pushing the agenda.

The Federal Government will continue to work tirelessly to ensure safety of lives and property in all parts of the country, Vice President Namadi Sambo made the promise on Sunday when he paid a visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.
The Emir recently returned to the country after a medical sojourn abroad following an attack on his convoy by gunmen in Kano.
Sambo’s promise came barely 24 hours after members of an Islamic sect, Ansaru, reportedly killed the seven foreigners they had earlier taken hostage from a construction site in Bauchi Stage.

Fresh War Errupt Between President Jonathan and VP, Sambo

A cold war brewing between President Goodluck Jonathan and Vice President Namadi Sambo came out in the open last weekend as the two political figures attended two different events with their political allies.
Mr. Jonathan was in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, to bury his brother, Meni, while Vice President Sambo was in Kaduna to give his two daughters, Aisha and Huwaila, out in marriage. A top official of the Peoples Democratic Party told SaharaReporters that many members of the party were baffled that the president fixed the burial of his brother on the same day that his vice president had set for his two daughters’ marriage. SaharaReporters learnt that Mr. Sambo’s daughters’ wedding had been scheduled months ago.

Sambo Demands Extra N9b For New Home/Office

The Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory has rejected plans by the Federal Capital Territory Administration to spend additional N9bn on the provision of infrastructure at the yet-to-be-completed residence of the Vice-President.

The committee, which visited the building site in Abuja on Thursday, refused to accept explanations from FCTA officials that N9bn more be sunk into the project.
Chairman of the Committee, Senator Smart Adeyemi, who led members of his committee to the site, said such a huge amount was unjustifiable in the face of abject poverty in the country.

Vice President Namadi Sambo to get a N2billion home

Vice President is getting a home worth N2 billion from the government of Nigeria. There's a N50bn budget for the Federal Capital Territory and N2bn, according to the FCT Minister Bala Mohammed, is going into the construction of the official residence of Vice President Namadi Sambo, while N300 million is for the construction of the official residences of Senate president David Mark and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu; the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal; and his deputy, Emeka Ihedioha.

So my question is; if they are building new homes for these people, where were they living before now? First a N2bn 150-seater banquet hall, now a N2bn home for the VP. This is the priority of the Government of a country where more than half the population live on under $1 a day. #Standingovation
