₦255m car scandal: Reps’ panel indicts Oduah, NCAA

There were indications on Wednesday that the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation had established some infractions against the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
The committee is investigating the controversial purchase of two bulletproof BMW cars by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority allegedly for Oduah at a whopping N255m. However, she testified before the committee, which is chaired by Mrs. Nkiruka Onyejeocha, and denied that the cars were bought for her use.
The panel  ended  its public hearing on the transaction on Monday.

Oduahgate: 'Ministry jerked up car budget" says Former NCAA boss


ABUJA— IT was revelations galore, yesterday, as former Acting Director-General of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, Mr Joyce Nkemakolam told House of Representatives members how the approved budget of N240 million for cars was jerked up to N643 million by the Ministry of Aviation.

Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah approved purchase of ₦255m bulletproof cars – NCAA

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority on Thursday told the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation that the Ministry of Aviation approved the controversial purchase of the N255m bulletproof cars for Ms Stella Oduah.

The Director of Aerodrome in the NCAA, Mr. Joyce Nkem-Akonam, made this known during the  committee’s public sitting  in Abuja.
Nkem-Akonam, who handled the transaction  as  the acting managing director  of the NCAA,  had made spirited efforts to defend the purchase.
