New Information showed Up In Connection With The Deaths Of Queen Diana And Dodi Al Fayed




British police are looking into new information that has surfaced in connection with the 1997 deaths of Princess Diana and her companion Dodi Al Fayed, Scotland Yard said today.

“The Metropolitan Police Service is scoping information that has recently been received in relation to the deaths and assessing its relevance and credibility,” Scotland Yard officials said today in a statement. “The assessment will be carried out by officers from the specialist crime and operations command.
“This is not a re-investigation and does not come under Operation Paget,” the statement said.

You were quoted as saying that the All Progressives Congress is not so keen on the presidency come 2015. What then is your focus?
I will rather say I was misquoted. How would there be a major party in 2013 and such party will not be keen about 2015? We are very much keen about 2015. The only thing I said, maybe, beclouded the one I did not say. What I said was that our preoccupation as an interim leadership of the APC was to mobilise and register members, to conduct congresses and convention to establish a good structure, a durable structure for the new party and that the priority now is the Anambra election and possibly, the Delta State senatorial election which will come up anytime from now.

SHAMELESS: Pastor Rap-és and Impregnates Senior Pastor's Daughter; Now Runs A Miracle Church



A 29-year-old pastor standing trial for raping and impregnating his senior pastor’s daughter in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, has run away to establish his own church, and performing miracles.
 He rapéd the girl in July last year when the youth of the church were having a special programme at night, but Damiolola’s mother said: “We did not know the girl was pregnant until January this year, while he (pastor) had hurriedly left in September 2012.”

Federal Government To Empower Six Million Youths




The Federal Government has expressed hopes to fully develop the capacity around six million Nigerian youths through Integrated Youth Empowerment Programme (IYEEP) launched with the Mara Foundation within 12 months.

In collaboration with Mara Foundation, FG said it hopes to lessen the amount of youth unemployment throughout the country.

Egypt's PM Calls for dissolution of Muslim Brotherhood




Egyptian Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi has proposed the legal dissolution of the Muslim Brotherhood and the idea is being studied by the government, a government spokesman said.
Beblawi had made the proposal to the minister of social affairs - the ministry responsible for licensing non-governmental organisations, Sherif Shawky said.
"It is being studied currently," he said.

26 souls lost, 215 missing in Philippine ferry disaster




CEBU (AFP) – Philippine rescuers searched Saturday for more than 200 people missing after a crowded ferry collided with a cargo ship and sank almost instantly in thick darkness, with 26 already confirmed dead.

The St Thomas Aquinas ferry was carrying 870 passengers and crew when the accident occurred late on Friday night in a dangerous choke point near the port of Cebu, the Philippines’ second biggest city, authorities said.

Kano Gov Pardons 370 Prisoners



The Kano State Government pardoned 370 prisoners in the past two years, the state’s Commissioner for Justice, Alhaji Maliki Kuliya, announced in Kano on Saturday.

Kuliya, who made the announcement in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano, said the prisoners were released from various prisons after the state’s Committee on Prerogative of Mercy recommended the release to government.

Badagry mafia victim Ifechukwudi Nwanipor laid to sleep




The remains of Ifechukwudi Nwanikpor, the 24 year old who was one of two young men brutally murderedby villagers from the Tozukame community area in Ajara, Badagry on Sunday July 21, was laid to rest at the Badagry Cemetery in Lagos yesterday.   Policemen watched as both men – Nwanikpor and Kazeem Onayemi (26) were beaten and killed by the community members after being labelled armed robbers.

Mourners and family members came out in their numbers at the Badagry cemetery but couldn’t hold back their tears at the burial.  Now the Badagry community that lynched him is offering his family N2.5 million compensation.

Ex B2k member Raz B on life support after bottle attack in China



Former B2K member Raz B, who has been living in China for the past three years, was smashed in the face with a bottle on Thursday night. According to TMZ Raz was performing at a club in Zhejiang when he noticed a fight pop off in the crowd. Raz left the stage to try and break up the fight and got hit in the mouth with a glass bottle by one of the brawlers. 

Security moved in fast and both Raz and his attacker were taken to the police station, but after it was determined that Raz was not at fault he was released to the hospital. 

Raz required a 1-hour surgical procedure and 4 stitches to repair the wound to his mouth. His attacker was ordered to pay him $5,000 for medical expenses.

The morning after the attack Raz B did not wake up. He's now on life support.

Young inventor dazzles Jonathan with power-generating football



President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday expressed delight over the creativity of a 25-year-old Nigerian, Jessica Matthews, who invented a power-generating football called SOCCKET ball.
Matthews, who is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Unchartedplay, was at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to present the ball, which can generate three hours of light from 30 minutes of play to Jonathan.
She also presented an energy-generating skipping rope to the President.
