Madam Jailed For Killing Houseboy In Lagos



An Ikeja High Court on Monday sentenced a 27-year-old woman, Chiamaka Nnajiofor, to 10 years imprisonment on her culpability in the death of her housekeeper, Oliver Arakwe.

Justice Lateefat Okunnu convicted Nnajiofor for the offence of manslaughter rather than the charge of murder preferred against her.

Nigerian person jailed in the UK for molesting a female in her own home




A Nigerian night club bouncer has been jailed for seven years in the UK for molesting a woman in her own home. Idreez Popoola (pictured above), who twice dodged deportation, brutally attacked his victim on 29th December 2012, eleven months after he successful appealed his deportation ruling.

26-year-old Abuja Actress Jailed for Stealing IPad, IPhone and jewellery




A 26-year-old actress Nancy Ndukwe of Jikwoyi, Abuja, was sentenced by Abuja Senior Magistrates’ Court on September 6, 2013, Friday. She was convicted for two months of imprisonment for stealing an IPad, IPhone and jewellery.

Cpl. Paul Anigbo, on the side of the prosecution, told the court that the matter was reported at the Lugbe Police Station by one Faith Njoku of Kapuwa Village, Lugbe, Abuja on September 2.

The prosecutor told the court that Nancy Ndukwe visited her friend Njoku on the above-mentioned date and stole her IPad, IPhone and jewellery, all valued at N190,000.

Music video director Aswad Ayinde jailed 90 yrs for fathering 6 kids with his own daughters




Music video director Aswad Ayinde, 55, who won an MTV award for directing The Fugees' 'Killing Me Softly' in 1996, has been sentenced to 90 years in prison for repeatedly raping his six daughters and fathering six children with them. *spits out* how disgusting is this guy?

Aswad Ayinde is accused of raping his daughters to create a "pure" bloodline, fathered six kids with them from the mid-1980s to 2002 - and delivered the babies himself, the court heard during his trial last Friday

Celestial Church Prophet Owolere Odunuga Jailed In Kirikiri Over Visa Fraud



Prophet Owolere Odunuga of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC), Ibeshe District, Ikorodu, who was arrested for alleged visa fraud, has been remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri, Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.  He allegedly confessed that he used part of the money to pay his tithe, used some to pay his house rent and invested the rest in his church.
 At the Ejigbo Magistrate’s Court where he was arraigned, he also told the court that immigration officials at the airport collected N60,000 per passport to stamp a fake Visa for him.  Odunuga was arrested after he allegedly defrauded a housewife, Mrs Olayemi Oluwapelumi, of N752,000 under the false pretence of procuring United States of America Visa for her.  Odunuga said he worked as travel agent before he received a call from God to start his own church.

Popular Actress Arrested & Jailed In Ibadan Over Fatal Car Accident



badan-based actress, Toyin Adegbola, has opened up on her ordeal when she was incarcerated by police after a friend crushed a pedestrian with her car describing it as the most challenging experience of her life.

She made this disclosure when she was recently hosted by Odua TV Channel.

She said police detained her for 10 days at Iyaganku Police Station. She was only released after thorough investigation has been carried out: “That was a trying period for me. I was not only arrested but detained for 10 days. It took intervention of well-meaning Nigerians and thorough investigation before I was released,” the actress said.

Couple Jailed For Keeping Their 12-Year-Old Niece As Sex Slave



A couple who prosecutors say kept a 12-year-old relative as a sex slave and a forced laborer have been sentenced to 20 or more years in prison.  Inez Martinez Garcia, 43, and Marcial Garcia Hernandez, 45, of California both pleaded guilty to their crimes on Monday following emotional testimony by their victim who hopes that after 12 years she can finally move on.

‘I was a young girl, and the things Inez and Marcial did to me have marked me for life. They took away my childhood,’ the woman only identified as Isabel wrote in a statement read by prosecutor David Uyar, UT San Diego reports.

‘Today I can go out and be a mother, a wife, and I can sleep knowing that justice has been done,’ the now 24-year-old said.

In June 2008 Alicia Gali took a job in the UAE at a luxury hotel operated in Dubai by one of the world’s biggest hotel chains, Starwood.

Alicia Gali  was using her laptop in the hotel’s staff bar when her drink was spiked. According to this report, she:

Awoke to a nightmare beyond belief: she had been savagely defiled by three of her colleagues.

Alone and frightened, she took herself to hospital.

What she did not know is that under the UAE’s strict sharia laws, if the perpetrator does not confess, a r*pe cannot be proved without the testimony of four adult Muslim male witnesses.

Henry Okah jailed 24 years



Henry Okah is suspected to be behind the 2010 Independence Day Bombing that killed 12 people was today sentenced to 24 years in prison by a South African Court.  Mr Okah was found guilty on 13 counts of terrorism, including engaging in terrorist activities, conspiracy to engage in terrorist activities, and delivering, placing, and detonating an explosive device.

 A Nigerian man has been jailed for 14 years for his role in the 'horrific' ordeal of two teenage girls being trafficked via London to work as prostitutes in mainland Europe. A court heard Odosa Usiobaifo, 35, from Enfield, north London, was involved in a 'significant' organised crime gang trafficking young women for the purposes of sexual exploitation. Usiobaifo was arrested after two Nigerian girls missing from local authority care in London were given false passports and tickets and placed on a flight to Spain.

CCTV punch attacks: Nigerian Michael Ayoade jailed for 4 years



The 35 year old Nigerian man, Michael Ayoade, who was caught on CCTV punching a teenage girl and a female student, and leaving them unconscious on the ground, has been jailed for four years.

Michael attacked female student, Daniella Montieth, in 2011, without any provocation. She was taken to the hospital with a broken tooth after he hit her in the side of the head at Plaistow tube station. Then on November 13th 2012 he jogged up behind a 16-year-old girl in the High Street and punched her in the head. The teenager fell to the ground, breaking three of her teeth. SHOCKING: Evangelical Church Minister Jailed For Séxually Assaulting His Family



A former evangelical church minister who subjected his family to long term cruelty and s*x abuse was jailed for 15 years today by a judge who called him ‘bullying and tyrannical.’
The 40-year-old had been convicted earlier this month of raping his wife and stepdaughter and being cruel to both his stepchildren between 1995 and 2010.
At one stage, early on in the man’s relationship with the mother and two children, social services were involved with the family - but did not detect what was going on.

Female Banker Jailed 9 Solid Years For Fraud



Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo of the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja has sentenced a former banker, Vera Ogbonna Akanni to nine years imprisonment for defrauding her bank customers various sums of money to the tune of N35.4 million.
The convict was prosecuted on an eight count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence and stealing by fraudulent conversion.
Prior to her sentencing, defence counsel, Yinka Oyeniji, drew the attention of the court to an affidavit of means placed before the court on February 17, 2013.

Okada Man Sent To Jailed For Robbing With Toy Gun



An Ikeja Magistrate Court, Monday, remanded a 21-year-old Okada rider, who allegedly used a toy gun to dispossess his victim of cash and property valued at N48,000. The defendant, whose name is Akinyemi Gbenga, who was arraigned before Magistrate O. Sule-Hamzat, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery uwillcgossip.com.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Roman Unuigbe, told the court that the defendant committed the said offence on January 24, 2013, at Charity Bus Stop, Oshodi, at about 5a.m. He said the defendant, who is an ‘area boy’, along with others now at large, attacked one Juliet Ibekeme.

Mechanic Jailed 2 Years For Drug Dealing



Lagos – A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, yesterday, sentenced a 32-year-old Mechanic to two years imprisonment for dealing on a narcotic.
The convict, Liasu Ajadi, had pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of illegal trade in cocaine.
Trial judge, Justice Benedicta Molokwu, convicted and sentenced the accused, following his guilty plea.
“In view of the plea of the accused, he is hereby convicted as charged. The accused is accordingly sentenced to two years imprisonment,” the court said.

29-yr-old guard jailed 2 months over ATM theft



LAGOS — A 29-year-old security guard, Benjamin Nyiynogo, was yesterday, sentenced to two months imprisonment by an Ikeja Magistrate Court, for stealing N76,000 through an Automated Teller Machine, ATM.
According to the magistrate, Mrs Dan Oni, “you are hereby sentenced to a two-month imprisonment with hard labour and without an option of fine for pleading guilty to the charge against you.
“You are to pay the N76,000 to the complainant upon your return from prison.”
The Police  Prosecutor Edet Okoi had told the court that the defendant stole the money belonging to one Mr Jimoh Aliu, his supervisor at work.

Mistaken-identity murderers jailed for 40 years





Two drug-addicted hit men who went to thewrong address and stabbed a teenager to death have been sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in jail. Judge John Royce said Ben Hope and Jason Richards had shown no remorse for the mistaken murder of 17-year-old Aamir Siddiqi. Prosecutors said 39-year-old Hope and 38-year-old Richards were paid 1,000 pounds ($1,600) each to kill a man who owed money to a businessman. But the pair killed Siddiqi on his doorstep instead. Last week a jury at Swansea Crown Court found the pair guilty of Siddiqi's 2010 murder and the attempted murder of his parents. The judge said Friday that the men had killed a "bright, gentle and courteous boy" who had a future "brimming with promise."

Henry Okah's accomplice, Edmond Ebiwere, jailed for life



One of Henry Okah's accomplice, Edmond Ebiwere, was today sentenced to life imprisonment by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja for the 2010 Independence Day bombing that killed 12 people and injured several others. Edmond was arrested on October 2nd in Abuja and was arraigned alongside Henry Okah and his brother Charles Okah.

As Edmond was being led away after the sentence was pronounced, he put up a struggle with the prison guards.

Sex Worker Jailed Six-Years For Manslaughter




A Nigerian commercial sex worker in the Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos State, Nkechi Okafor has been sentenced to six years imprisonment for allegedly stabbing one of her clients, Abiodun Sarumi to death.27 year-old Nkechi who is a primary school drop-out is a mother of a four year old girl and hails from Imo State. She was found guilty today by Justice Lateefat Okunnu of the Ikeja High court of manslaughter after the charges of murder preferred against her was amended to manslaughter.
Nkechi was arraigned on 16 March, 2012, on a one count charge of murder. The charge was later amended to manslaughter.

Cameroonian Jailed For Texting 'I'm in love with you' To Another Man





A Cameroon appeals court upheld a sentence against a man convicted of homosexuality for texting his male friend to say, "I'm very much in love with you."
Roger Mbede, a university student, was arrested in March last year after the man who received the message tipped off authorities, Human Rights Watch said. A court sentenced Mbede to three years in prison at the time after he was beaten to coerce a confession, according to the group. In July, after more than a year in detention, Mbede was released as his case went through the appeals process, the rights group said in a statement.The appeals court issued its ruling Monday.
