Picture: Officer hits LASTMA official unconcious with his gun



A mobile policeman yesterday afternoon attacked three officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, and knocked one unconscious following an argument along Ashabi Cole off Lateef Jakande road Agidingbi in Ikeja.

Trouble started when LASTMA officials attempted to tow a vehicle parked before a bank that has been causing traffic. Law enforcement officers guarding the bank challenged the LASTMA officials and tried to stop them from towing the automobile that has been believed to belong to a bank customer. An arguement ensued and before anyone could stop it, one LASTMA official was rushed to a healthcare facility after having a police man gave him a head butt and smashed the butt of his gun into his face.

Victim killed in error: Untrained OPC member kills socialite during gun salute



The police have commenced  investigations into the murder of a 72-year-old man, Alhaji Abdulkareem Kadiru, in Ijora Badia area of Lagos State.
According to the police, the victim was killed in error by an Oodua Peoples Congress member, Ismaila Rahmon, who was in charge of security at a school where a Ramadan event took place.
Rahman allegedly killed the Alhaji with a gun he seized from an armed robber but failed to turn it over to the police.

Video: Police Officer Threatens To ‘Rough Handle ', ‘Gun Down' Person At Lagos Airport



A officer attached to Harry Akande, owner of AIC Limited on Tuesday threatened to ‘gun down'the official of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
AIC on Tuesday stormed the airport premises to reclaim the land that has been removed from the company but was resisted by FAAN‘s Aviation Security officials, who threw caution to the wind and battled members of the AIC, including throwing stones at Mr Akande.

FAAN had leased the said land to AIC about 10 years back for the development of a hotel facility at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.
A forthnight ago, FAAN had won a case against AIC on the land because the Federal High Court in Lagos put aside your decision of arbitration that awarded the company $48 million to be paid by FAAN, as compensation for ejection of AIC from the land.

'Boyfriend' Rapes 3 Sisters and Their Mum At Gun Point



Sometimes I wonder the kind of heart some guys have:A gang of boys at the weekend raped three sisters and their mother at Illah town, in Oshimili North local government area of Delta State at gun point.   Unfortunately, while the shameful act lasted, other women who heard their shout and rushed to the scene were given the same treatment by the rapists who after threatening to kill them escaped with the women’s wrappers, leaving them nude in the bush...  Spokesman of the Delta State command, ASP Lucky Uyabeme, said the victims were ambushed on their way to the farm, adding that one of the suspects, identified as Chuks had attempted to woo one of the girls, who is a 16-year-old SSII student of one of the secondary schools in the area. He said he wanted to be her boyfriend but she turned him down.

Customs intercept air gun, pellets at Lagos airport



Operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Command in Lagos on Thursday have intercepted an air soft gun otherwise known as Zinc Alloy Shell G15 pistol and five sachets of pellets from a passenger at the premier airport.
The items were found on the passenger, identified as Mr. Ukeje Joseph, with passport number A04206153, during the inward clearance of Kenya Airways flight KQ532 from Johannesburg in South Africa.
The event occurred during routine examination by the Customs and other relevant agencies at the Lagos Airport on passengers’ luggage.

Mayweather’s opponent faces gun charge



Robert Guerrero, preparing to challenge welterweight titleholder and pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 4, was arrested Thursday morning at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York for attempting to board a flight to Las Vegas with an unloaded gun.
Guerrero (31-1-1, 18 KOs), who turned 30 on Wednesday, was to be arraigned on gun-possession charges later Thursday.
Guerrero, who is from Gilroy, Calif., and is training for the fight in Las Vegas, had been on the East Coast for a few days to make several appearances to promote the Showtime pay-per-view fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Okada Man Sent To Jailed For Robbing With Toy Gun



An Ikeja Magistrate Court, Monday, remanded a 21-year-old Okada rider, who allegedly used a toy gun to dispossess his victim of cash and property valued at N48,000. The defendant, whose name is Akinyemi Gbenga, who was arraigned before Magistrate O. Sule-Hamzat, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and armed robbery uwillcgossip.com.
The police prosecutor, Inspector Roman Unuigbe, told the court that the defendant committed the said offence on January 24, 2013, at Charity Bus Stop, Oshodi, at about 5a.m. He said the defendant, who is an ‘area boy’, along with others now at large, attacked one Juliet Ibekeme.

Brave guard kills armed robber with bandits’ gun



A security man, Joseph Ogbor, attached to Tonimas Filling Station along Okuku Road in Ogoja, Cross River State, has killed an armed robber with a gun brought by the bandit to raid the station.
Manager of the station, who identified himself simply as Sunny, said some robbers came in at about 2am last Friday, armed with machetes and guns to cart away “the money we made.”
Sunny, who spoke with our correspondent on Monday, said, “When they got here our security man confronted them and they got angry and descended on him. He had fractures on his right leg and skull.”

Pastor Pulls Out Gun On Church Accountant In Benue



The Benue State Police Command, yesterday, arrested the pastor of a new generation church in Katsina-Ala (names withheld) for illegal possession of fire arms and assault on the church’s accountant.
Vanguard gathered from sources that the pastor was apprehended with the firearm by men of the Benue State Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, in Katsina-Ala where he allegedly tried to kill the accountant of the church, Mr. Philip Toryila, during a serious disagreement over money.
