Gov. Amaechi Update: Odili Joins Jonathan To Fight Amaechi

It is clear that the BIG enemy that PDP wants to bring down at all cost is Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
But one man that observed is now part of the anti-Amaechi group of “hungry” politicians is Peter Odili, who lost his bid to become Nigeria’s President and also lost out in the battle of who to be made Vice President to late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
Odili is back! This time he is joining President Goodluck Jonathan to fight Amaech. But since he had once claimed to have reconciled with Amaechi many would have thought that he would at least remain neutral in the unfolding political battle between Rivers State and Abuja politicians.

State Gov in trouble over illegal importation of weapons

Zamfara State Governor Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar has been accused of purchasing guns and ammunition for the purpose of arming vigilance groups. Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, Senator Sha’aba Lafiagi made the allegation in the Senate yeterday during a debate on a motion entitled: “The plan of the Zamfara State Governor to arm vigilance groups in the state with rifles.”
The upper chamber was, however, divided as some Senators supported the governor’s efforts to secure the state while others argued that the matter should not be narrowed down to Zamfara, but to other states facing similar security challenges.
However, the Senate, in its resolution, urged President Goodluck Jonathan to deploy more security personnel in Zamfara and other states facing similar security challenges. Senator Basheer Garba Mohammed, alongside 46 other Senators, sponsored the motion.

According to the governor, a programme would be introduced next season in tertiary institutions to aid illiterate traditional rulers to obtain basic knowledge in governance.

The fight for the control of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum between Rivers Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and Plateau Governor, Jonah Jang, took a different turn on Friday as pro-Ameachi governors, represented by Lagos Governor, Babatunde Fashola, went to court to stop Jang from parading himself as the chairman of the NGF.

The gov is fair to all religions — Commissioner

Osun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Sunday Akere, in this interview with TUNDE ODESOLA, clears the air on the allegation that Governor Rauf Aregbesola has an Islamisation agenda
There are fears that Governor Rauf Aregbesola is planning to Islamise Osun. What is your take on this?
No statement is farther from the truth than this. Religion is a very personal, sentimental and volatile issue. So, we must be mindful of the way we use it. The State of Osun is one of the most peaceful states in the nation and we want it to remain so. Osun, like other states of the South-West, is highly heterogeneous in terms of people of diverse religious beliefs. We have people who worship all forms of gods like Ogun, Sango, Obatala, Iyemoja, Esu, etc. We also have the major dominant religions, Christianity and Islam. In all these diverse forms of worship, the Yoruba have co-existed for years without any religious upheavals. The region has never witnessed any religious crisis owing to the accommodative, tolerant and reasonable nature of the Yoruba. The State of Osun, as the ancestral source of all Yoruba is, for obvious reasons, very rich in culture and tradition.

'Those betraying GEJ and PDP Gov Akpabio Got A Message For You ( Pls reply)

Those betraying GEJ and PDP are like Judas who betrayed Jesus'- Gov Akpabio
"PDP is the only party with national spread and Nigerians have come to accept it. But when there is an implosion, when you have more Judases than disciples. The Judases are more than disciples now. We have to cleanse the system of Judases to support Mr. President. Where there is treachery, where there are more Judases than you have disciples, we want to have good disciples, we know that even in Christendom when Jesus Christ have 12 disciples, there was one Judas, but if the Judas were up to nine, then, Jesus could have been in trouble, the gospel would have been in trouble today."- Godswill Akpabio Akwa Ibom State Governor and Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum
