I want all of you to fight for me –Amaechi

THE Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, has called on the people of the state and Nigerians to fight for him and defend the mandate he holds in trust for them.
Amaechi explained that only the people could fight for him in a situation where the police had decided to work against him and threaten the authority given to him by them.

The governor was reacting to the roadblock mounted on Thursday by the police on Forces Avenue in Port Harcourt, a development that denied him access to the Government House for about 30 minutes.

Why GEJ cannot fight corruption

“When the head is rotten, it affects the whole body”
— A popular African proverb
At the inception of President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration in 2011, Nigeria’s first minority president, the man whom much hope had been invested to clean the Aegean Stable shocked the entire nation. It was in the answer he gave to what had seemed to be an innocuous question that had left Nigerian bewildered. Jonathan had been asked why he had not deemed it fit to set a personal example in transparency by declaring his assets. The interviewer sought to know why he had not fulfilled the constitutional obligation. He wanted the President to tell Nigerians when he would submit his assets to public scrutiny as an example to other public officials.

Nigerian Airforce Invents Bomb Detecting Robot To Fight Boko Haram

Experts in bomb detonation would soon not need to get closer to such dangerous objects to neutralise them as the Nigerian Airforce has invented a robot to undertake such task from a far distance.

Commandant of the Nigerian Airforce Institute of Technology (NAFIT), Kaduna, John Oshoniyi on Monday said the institute had developed a bomb detective robot capable of detecting bombs from afar, and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for surveillance and intelligence gathering in crisis prone parts of the country.
At a news conference in preparation for the 42nd graduation ceremony of the institute, the commandant said the bomb detonating robot, would assist the security agencies to check the series of bombings by terrorist groups.

Don’t Fight Ageing With Creams Alone

Many people will spend money on anti-ageing creams, facial surgical procedures and other cosmetic processes that claim to restore youthfulness or chunk off some years from their looks.
Well, some people are able to achieve temporary relief from the scrawny lines that wrinkles foist on the face, neck and the forehead — three areas of the body that readily give away, unsolicited, the number of decades someone has spent so far on this part of the divide.
Yet, experts say we can save ourselves from the feelings of helplessness that ageing — especially premature ageing — foist on us. They contend that dietary habits can either delay or speed up the ageing process, depending on what you take into your mouth.

Rivers State House Of Assembly Update: Free-for-All Fight in Rivers State House - Witness

♦ Majority leader, Speaker beaten

♦ Bipi made himself Speaker for a few minutes

♦ Bipi asked his cops, thugs to shoot Governor Amaechi

♦ Bipi resisted arrest

♦ Order later restored, with Speaker Amachree taking charge

The Rivers state House of Assembly in south-south Nigeria, for some minutes Tuesday, witnessed a very rowdy session after two months of adjournment as pro Governor Rotimi Amaechi legislators battled five renegade lawmakers rooting for the political opponents of the governor.

The minority lawmakers, whose agenda was to impeach the governor made the impeachment of Speaker Otelemaba Amachree and other principal officers the first priority. They thus sneaked into the House Chambers at about 8.30 am much earlier than the normal sitting of the House and smuggled in a mace.

Gov. Amaechi Update: Odili Joins Jonathan To Fight Amaechi

It is clear that the BIG enemy that PDP wants to bring down at all cost is Governor Rotimi Amaechi.
But one man that observed is now part of the anti-Amaechi group of “hungry” politicians is Peter Odili, who lost his bid to become Nigeria’s President and also lost out in the battle of who to be made Vice President to late President Umaru Yar’Adua.
Odili is back! This time he is joining President Goodluck Jonathan to fight Amaech. But since he had once claimed to have reconciled with Amaechi many would have thought that he would at least remain neutral in the unfolding political battle between Rivers State and Abuja politicians.

AHF provides condom dispensers & carries out condom education in fight against HIV/AIDS

This initiative sees the positioning of condom dispensers and baskets in strategic places in the FCT (e.g. Hotels, Brothels, ''relaxation joints'', etc.), in a conscious attempt to bring condom(s) closer to the people, especially those who cannot afford or access it conveniently. Amaechi VS Goodluck - It’s fight to the finish, says Amaechi

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, yesterday wielded the big stick on the embattled Rivers State Governor and Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, NGF, Rotimi Amaechi, by suspending him from the party.
The National Working Committee, NWC, of the party hinged his suspension on anti-party activities. But Amaechi has vowed to fight his suspension to the finish. “I will not leave the PDP. I will go to court.
The aircraft issue is same politics, pure politics. For one year plus, a minister refuses to sign import permit. I’m sure you are aware of the House of Representatives’ Committee report on the plane issue. “I want to say the way these people at the federal level are acting, they may come for my life. So, when you pray, please pray for me,” he said. He said there was nothing wrong for a governor to ask for his right, “which the PDP is now describing as anti-party.”

Lagos Police Spokesperson Receives Query Over Public Fight With Superior Officer

Despite receiving a Junior Chambers International award for her "monumental leadership" the spokesperson of the Lagos police, Ngozi Braide, has been issued a query for fighting and attempting to stab a senior police officer, SaharaReporters has learned.
It was gathered from a reliable source at police headquarters in Ikeja that Miss Braide is undergoing interrogation for allegedly fighting with a Chief Superintendent of Police identified as Cynthia Ibeama.
"It is obvious that JCI who presented the award to Miss Braide last week did not know that she has a query to answer,” a police source said.

Pastor Caught With Cocaine After Fight With His Girlfriend

I wonder the kind of morals this pastor has be passing on to his congregation:
The Baypoint Community Church in Texas City is now going to be closed down after the man leading the flock was accused of drug possession and violence against his own girlfriend. Pastor Terry Gass was accused of pushing his girlfriend out of an SUV. Consequently, the bank has foreclose on the property where the church is located and take it all back.
This might be a surprising move by a financial institution, but the domestic violence incident was just the beginning of Pastor Terry’s troubles....
