Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, has approved the purchase of 120 brand new cars for traditional rulers within the state. This is disclosed by their state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ademorin Kuye, in an appointment with the press , in Lagos. Kuye, noted that the cars which would be acquired next season, would help the traditional rulers to effectively discharge their responsibilities.

A Spanish woman has been accused of throwing her newborn baby boy out of a window after secretly having a baby on Christmas Eve. According to the authorities, a 35-year-old mother delivered the infant herself before cutting the umbilical cord. Then she wrapped the newly-born into a set of jeans and threw it out from the kitchen window right into a courtyard.

Former Kogi State acting governor Chief Clarence Olafemi escaped death from the hands of armed robbers.
It was learnt that on December 26, Mr. Olafemi was returning to Lokoja from his country home in Mopa, Mopa-Muro Local Government Area, where he received friends and political associates.
At about 3.30 p.m., the robbers, numbering about 12, flagged down the former acting governor's Sport Utility vehicle along Kabba-Okene highway, and opened fire.

The man accused of killing his mother in Deep River, Conn., on Thurs., disemboweled her, according to a police report. Troopers responded to a home at 131 Rattling Valley Road around 1 p.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call from the victim's ex-husband.

Battered Pregnant Woman, factory Worker: Lebanese Manager Arrested

The Lebanese boss who allegedly beats the hell out of a pregnant factory worker, causing her to get rid of her 7-months pregnancy, has been arrested by the Nigerian police. Kaveh Noine, a manager with Toppan Printing Company positioned in Ikeja Industrial Estate, was arrested yesterday Friday December 27th in Kano where he fled to and was sent back to Lagos to manage justice.

Target representatives have confirmed that the PIN data was stolen through over 40 million accounts. Earlier the company has emailed users that their information is secure and very safe.

Target has released an official statement this morning:

"While we previously shared that encrypted data was obtained, this morning through additional forensics work we were able to confirm that strongly encrypted PIN data was removed. We remain confident that PIN numbers are safe and secure. The PIN information was fully encrypted at the keypad, remained encrypted within our system, and remained encrypted when it was removed from our systems."

Babatunde Raji Fashola, was born in Lagos at the Island Maternity Hospital on June 28, 1963. A fifth generation Lagosian and a direct descendant of the patriach of the Fashola family in Isalegangan. He is also a descendant of the Shomade family of Isale Eko through his paternal grandmother as well as a descendant of the Bashua and suenu families of Lagos.


He studied at the University of Benin from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws, LL.B.(Hon), degree in 1987.

The Special Fraud Unit, Ikoyi, Lagos State, has arrested an account officer with Guaranty Trust Homes, Adeola Olokojobi, in connection with a N50m fraud at the financial institution.

A statement by the SFU Commissioner of Police, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin, said, “The petitioner also alleged that the balance given to him was at variance with his actual balance in the account.
