Nigeria Is Experiencing Financial Crisis, Says Edo Governor Adams Oshiomhole
The inability of the Nigerian Government to meet its financial obligations to state governments has been described as a recipe for national disaster which can lead to serious security challenges. Making this assertion during a press briefing in Benin-City, Thursday, Edo State Governor, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole, said the country was experiencing financial crisis as most states could not pay the salaries of their workers.
Following the Nigerian Government's inability to pay monthly allocation to states, Mr. Oshiomhole implored the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to pay into the Federation Account the over N2.3 trillion it was owing it.

Saudi Arabia group behind chemical weapons provocation in Syria - Source
A group sent by Saudi Arabia from Jordanian territory is responsible for the August 21 chemical weapons provocation that was staged in the Eastern Ghouta suburb of Damascus, said Russian diplomatic sources.
"Having analyzed this information, which was received from a whole range of sources, we are getting a picture that confirms that the criminal provocation in Eastern Ghouta was committed by a specialized group that was sent by Saudi Arabia from the territory of Jordan and acted under the cover of the Liva al-Islam group," one of the sources said.

Nigeria fails global energy equity test – WEC
The World Energy Council has said Nigeria has not performed well in the global energy equity ranking.
This is according to the WEC’s 2013 Energy Sustainability Index, a global ranking of 129 countries based on their performances on the three aspects of the energy trilemma.
The index ranks countries in terms of their likely ability to provide sustainable energy policies through the three dimensions of the energy trilemma: Energy Security, Energy Equity, and Environmental Sustainability.

How Obasanjo received rumoured involvement of son, Gbenga
Fears on Thursday gripped many residents of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital following rumours of the involvement of Gbenga, the first son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in the crash of the Associated Airline plane in Lagos.
