Convicted Nigerian rapist to be deported from the UK
Convicted rapist, Ekene Anoliefo, 38, who is a son of a Nigerian politician, has lost his appeal to stay in the UK and will be deported back to Nigeria after serving time for rape. Ekene was jailed for nine years for the rape of a 19 year old woman in Aberdeen, who he pretended to help before holding her captive in his car, driving her to his flat and then raping her there. Ekene had been fighting to stay in the UK since he was ordered for deportation in December 2012, claiming that deportation would breach his human rights. His lawyers argued that he had lawfully lived in the UK for four years as a student and had hoped to remain in the country after serving time but the UK government don't want to hear none of that. They said he's 'a dangerous sexual predator' and want him out of the UK.

Nigerian Lawmakers Are Highest Paid worldwide: See Report - The Economist
The jumbo salary being paid Nigerian legislators, which ranked the highest in the world, according to a new study, has attracted sharp criticisms from across the country, including from economists and lawyers.
This is even as the minimum wage in Nigeria is among the very least in the world. The standard of living for the average Nigerian is getting worse, but all those holding political positions are living large...
“This democracy is satanic. We have to review this democracy. The cost of maintaining the lawmakers is outrageous. What they are taking is too much,” said Nigerian professor
A report by The Economist revealed that Nigerian federal legislators with a basic salary of $189,500 (N30.6m) per annum were the highest paid lawmakers in the world.

Shocking: Confession Of A DPO About What Goes On In Nigerian Police Stations
For whoever wants to know why inefficiency is the lot of the Nigeria Police, the starting point may be to closely watch the state of things at police stations across the country.
Apart from the poor physical state of many of them, they are largely run on charity.Investigations shows that some of the police stations in Nigeria get as low as N35,000 as allocation from the force headquarters per quarter.
This is the reason why in all the states of the federation, many police stations rely on philanthropic gestures from members of their host communities and proceeds of bribery to function effectively. And that is why inscriptions such as ‘Donated by Welders Association’, ‘Community Development Association’ are constant features on many items and facilities found in many police stations in the country.

President Goodluck Jonathan Violates Nigerian Laws, Corners N3Billion
The Federal Government does not build general hospitals but President Goodluck Jonathan has waived two vital rules to establish a princely N2.8 billion new general hospital for his hometown, Otuoke, effectively placing the coastal community as an exclusive beneficiary of a strange largesse not known to federal laws, according to Premium Times.
It is not clear how and when the federal government first conceived the hospital project, as it was not listed in federal budgets between 2009 and 2011, and even after. But the Federal Executive Council meeting of August 17, 2011, presided over by Mr. Jonathan, gave approval for the project, and a N2.8billion contract was hurriedly awarded to Messrs Avandale Limited. The job was projected to last only 12 months; and indeed, unlike the usual delay government projects face, it was delivered on time.
