Farida Waziri Is A Beast, Obasanjo And Atiku Should Work Together To Bring Down Jonathan – Femi Fani-Kayode

I am glad that President Olusegun Obasanjo has finally described the former Chairman of the EFCC, Farida Waziri, for the beast that she has always been and that he has commended my brother Nuhu Ribadu for his excellent record of service to our country.

However I must say that I think that it is ill-advised for Baba to be attacking Abubakar Atiku at this point in time. Two months ago he fired a similar salvo at Bola Tinubu as
well which was again completely unecessary.

Nigeria must Arrest and prosecute IBB, Obasanjo – Opadokun ( Do You Agree ?)

Former Secretary of the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, and Publicity Secretary of the National Democratic Coalition, Chief Ayo Opadokun, in this interview with LEKE BAIYEWU, explains the national mistakes in June 12 and the danger ex-military chiefs pose to Nigeria’s democratic system

Have you ever been worried that June 12, is being celebrated annually only in the South-West?
A significant number of those who have succeeded in capturing power – those who were military apologists, con-federates, sympathisers and friends – will not understand where the shoe is pinching ordinary Nigerians, since they did not participate in the various campaigns that the National Democratic Coalition established. They got into political offices through influence peddling and commercialisation of the Nigerian political landscape. They have failed to show a modicum of etiquette and attitude to those who made it possible for the restoration that took place in 1999.

Obasanjo, El-Rufai and I — Atiku

Atiku Abubakar was the Vice-President during the Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration between 1999 and 2007. The founding member of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party shares his experience in the party and the privatisation exercise under his leadership in this online interview with LEKE BAIYEWU
As a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party, why did you leave your party for the opposition Action Congress in 2006?
I had to leave because I was pushed to the limit. You know what happened during that period and we don’t have to go through it all over again. A scheme was introduced, by which I and my supporters were removed from the party under the guise of re-registration. Of course, the bigger scheme was to ensure that I did not succeed my boss (Olusegun Obasanjo). You saw how the cards were stacked against me to pursue my presidential aspiration under PDP. They had me suspended from the party, even beyond the length of time permitted by the PDP constitution. The party rejected and flouted all courts orders in respect of my rights as a party member.

Why We Picked Obasanjo In 1999 - Babangida

Former Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, yesterday explained the rationale behind the selection of former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 1999.
Featuring on a weekly Guest-of-the Week programme of Liberty FM, a private radio station in Kaduna, Babangida said they picked General Obasanjo because they needed somebody who can save the country from disintegration.
“The emergence of Obasanjo came as a result of what happened in the country. The country was in a very serious crisis and we had to find the solution to these problems. Therefore we need a leader. A leader who is known in the country. “So, we looked for a man who has been involved in the affairs of this country, who held position either in the military or in the cabinet and who has certain beliefs about Nigeria. All of us that were trained in the armed forces, there is one belief that you cannot take away from us, we believe in this country because this is part of our training. We fought for this country.
