World’s Largest Dam To Provide Electricity For 500 Million African Homes

Work will start in October 2015, on the world’s biggest hydroelectric dam in the Democratic Republic of Congo after talks between DR Congo and international officials.
Sunday’s meeting on the proposed Inga dam on the Congo river also involved multilateral lending institutions.
According to a statement, the “foundation stone will be laid in October 2015.”
“With a production of 40,000 megawatts, the Grand Inga project will eventually provide electricity to half the African continent,” it said.
This is less than half of the DR Congo’s total hydropower resources, which the World Bank estimates at 100,000 megawatts.
World Bank estimates suggest that if completed and running at full capacity, the complex could provide energy to up to 500 million African households.

Nigeria Police: Why We Can't Arrest Asari Dokubo

“I am not afraid of arrest. I am saying it bold and clear without mincing words, Nigeria will be history if I am arrested. I am daring them to arrest me if they can. If they don’t, they are cowards and shame on them.”
These were the words of Asari Dokubo, a militant leader, daring the police or anyone to arrest him for his threat to set Nigeria on fire if President Goodluck Jonathan is not elected in 2015.
The President, the police, the military, the SSS and others kept quiet in a move many believed to be due to the fact that Asari is close to the President and enjoys billions of Naira contract from him.
Anyway, the Police now have something to say. See their claims below...
Police Force spokesman, CSP Frank Mba said, “If we find anybody committing any offence, we will bring the full weight of the law on them. But, we will not go out of our way to get involved in chasing frivolities; we are not politicians, we are a law enforcement agency.

Time for youths in Nigerian Leadership – Ifeanyi Fortune

The time is near for a change of leadership in Nigeria. A new era of fresh ideas eager the redesign the political landscape of our country. We cannot hide our appreciation to our fathers who set the foundation for our freedom. Which implies we owe them much in service and contributing our own quota in our own time. But to be realistic, their time is thinning to vacate the leadership of our country, Nigeria.

Because every father prays for his son(s) to be greater than him and took over the baton of power when mature. You’ll agree with me that our fathers know that we have write our own destiny having watched them build till now. Yet I refuse to speculate that they’ve refuse to relinguish position of authority or have we not demanded our rightful responsibility to prove to them that we are now ready to lead.
