Egyptian President, Mr. Mohammed Morsi, was on Thursday overthrown by the country’s military after days of protest near the Presidential Palace.
Speaking at the public presentation of two books by Malam Nuhu Ramalan, Head of Political Science Department of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Zaria, the former Head of State said:
“I encourage young men to buy the books to know their history. Although I know history would keep on repeating itself, as it (has) just been in Egypt. Nigeria would not be an exception, and by the way we are going only God knows where we are going to end up, but I hope we would end up well”.

‘South East govoment to give Achebe befitting burial’ – Orji

Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has expressed shock at the death of Professor Chinua Achebe, a literary Icon who just passed away. And Orji captured the shock of his death in the deceased literary words: “Things have fallen apart, the centre cannot hold, we are no longer at ease.”
The governor, however, said the governors of the South-East would do their best to give the departed a befitting burial. Ugochukwu Emezue, Chief Press Secretary to Orji, said that Ndigbo has lost a literary icon, a legend of all times and a hero whose novels remain a reference point in and outside the country.
The governor who lamented the exit of Prof Achebe maintained that he was yet to come to terms with the sudden demise of this statesman of international repute. He declared that the late Prof Achebe impacted positively on the lives of people through his literary works.
Achebe, the Abia governor stated, would be remembered for always standing up for Ndigbo at all times, despite all odds.
“Though Professor Achebe was challenged through an accident that affected his normal movement , he waxed stronger, impacting knowledge to the younger ones as a lecturer abroad” , the governor added.

House of Representatives Rejects Bill to Give Unemployed Graduates Allowance ( Pls Share Your Point Of View)

The House of Representatives on Wednesday threw out a bill seeking to provide monetary incentives to all unemployed graduates in Nigeria.
The bill, which was sponsored by Arua Arunsi (PDP, Abia), sought to amend the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Act 2004 to cater for unemployed graduates of tertiary institutions who could not secured employment.
Mr Arunsi had argued that the bill was to design and implement programmes to combat mass unemployment for graduates that are between the ages of 18 to 35 years and also between third to fifth year of post-graduation experience.

Most of the lawmakers present at the chamber stoutly opposed the second reading of the bill on the ground that it failed to meet critical criterion of filling gaps inherent in the existing laws it was seeking to amend.

Worshippers give Bishop Oyedepo 700 cars as offering

This actually happened a few weeks back but I'm only just hearing about it. According to sources in the know, during Winners Chapel Cross Over service on Tuesday January 1st in Canaanland, Ota, Ogun state, worshipers of the church made donations of over 700 exotic cars to the church. People who felt they had been richly blessed in 2012 came to the cross over service with different donations, most significant was the number of exotic brand new cars and SUVs that flooded Canaanland. The people who donated them dropped the keys and documents of the cars during offering. The church auctioned the cars at very cheap prizes to its members. Some cars were sold for as less as N300k.
