As senators, we stopped impeachment crisis between Obasanjo, Anyim – Durojaiye

Senator  Biyi Durojaiye in this interview withADEOLA BALOGUN speak on various issues
The way you reel out dates and details of events does not portray a memory of an 80-year-old, what is the secret of that?
God’s grace is the first secret of what you have observed and what many people have also observed. People say I look younger than my age and that I look strong and virile, it is God’s grace. Another contributory factor is inherited good genes. My father was a very healthy person and he lived to nearly 87 and my mother too was a very healthy woman and she lived  nearly 92 before she died. The other one is Spartan discipline; I am not an angel because I too had my fun when I was younger but I avoided excesses. The number of beer bottles I have taken in life can be counted on my finger tips.

Obasanjo, Otedola Pray, Eat Lunch With Jonathan

The curtain of uncertainty surrounding the resolution of the rift  between former President Olusegun Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan is gradually being opened giving a vista of hope for the resuscitation of the ruling People’s Democratic party (PDP) and the stability of the political landscape.

Only last week, for the umpteenth time Obasanjo took on Jonathan’s presidency on what he described as the latter’s government inability to overcome the security challenges posed by the proliferation of violence orchestrated by the activities of  Islamic religious sect, Jama’atul Ahlus Sunnah Lid Da’awati Wal Jihad, otherwise known as Boko Haram.

Where is Stella Obasanjo’s son ?

Muyiwa and Imelse
Until his mother’s death via an unsuccessful surgery in 2005, little or nothing was known about Muyiwa Obasanjo, son of Nigeria’s former First Lady, Stella Obasanjo.  Her demise somewhat launched him into the limelight irrespective of the fact that he was resident abroad at that time. Although he retreated from the social sphere post- funeral, he was again in the news when he wedded Imelse, a citizen of Dominican Republic at a wedding that had all the trappings of luxury and thereafter relocated to Nigeria.
Many years after romancing the kleiglights   albeit impromptu, he has tactically withdrawn, causing many to wonder what he has been up to.

Obasanjo’s recommendation for tackling Boko Haram

The recent “carrot and stick” approach recommended by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to the solution of the Boko Haram insurgency should be taken seriously by President Goodluck Jonathan. Till date, among all our past leaders, Obasanjo has continuously shown concern, worry and proffered solution to this lingering crisis. He, human like all of us, though, has his faults which many of us have at one time or the other kicked against both while he was in or out of power. Yet, it is often said that, messages are considered while the messenger can be ignored. Obasanjo as a former president and military chief in this country has a lot to offer in terms of experience and tactics in security matters. We cannot for very obvious reasons sideline him when he speaks on similar issues just because we differ with his political moves. We should and must take him seriously because of our interest in building and achieving peace and unity in this country.

The cold war between the camp of former president, Olusegun Obasanjo and President Goodluck Jonathan took a new turn over the weekend, as a presidential aide called bluff the threats by Obasanjo not to back Jonathan if the latter eventually declares his intention to re-contest in 2015.
Although the president is yet to openly affirm his intention to run or not, analysts say his body language and that of those around him stoutly suggest the opposite.
