Israeli drones are omnipresent in the Gaza Strip. Though most of them fly surveillance missions, there may also be attack drones among them. There is no way to tell one from the other.

There have been no Israeli troops in Gaza since 2005 - they are all in the so-called buffer zone along the border. Yet, ubiquitous drones make it look like the Israeli occupation of the enclave continues.

Al Mezan, a local human rights watchdog, has been recording Israeli drone strikes from as long as they first happened in Gaza.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced February 14 2015 as the date for Nigeria's presidential election in addition to those for the members of the National Assembly.

Governorship and State House of Assembly elections are scheduled for February 28, 2015.

This is within statement released yesterday evening & signed by the Commission's secretary, Augusta Ogakwu. The commission also announced that the Ekiti State governorship election will hold on June 21, 2014 while that of Osun State will hold on August 9, 2014.  Hollywood actress and activist Goldie Hawn met President Jonathan on January 22nd at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, took a pic with him, shared it on twitter and described the president as 'wonderful president of Nigeria'.

Thing is, Goldie Hawn is a staunch supporter of gay rights and when some fans lashed out at her for taking a pic with an anti-gay president and praising him, Goldie said she had no idea and was appalled. Nigeria's Ex-Minister Humphrey Abah & wife welcome baby 23yrs after marriage

 Nigeria's former Minister of State for Interior,Humphrey Abah and his wife of 23 years, Mrs Mary Abah welcomed a baby recently 23 years after the got married.

49 year old Mary, who is a lawyer and banker, shared her experience with Punch on the challenges of being married for so long without a child and the support she got from her husband.

"When they told me I was pregnant, I screamed and cried in the hospital and everyone present rose up and gave thanks to the Lord. Since then, the story has been one testimony after another. But that was not all, when I was to put to bed, I was told there might be complications as a result of all the operations I had done. They said that might make it a very difficult and dangerous birth. Yet, the Lord saw me through. It feels great and I thank the Lord for wiping away my tears and making me a mother at last. It is a dream I have had since I married at the age of 27. Now, I am more than 49 years old, it has taken a long time but the Lord has done it for me.

7 Gay Men Nabbed In Bauchi

According to a report by Channels TV, seven men appeared in court in Bauchi on Wednesday, Jan. 22, on charges of being involved in same-sex relationships. The case drew thousands of protesters to the court, who threw stones at the men as they were being transported back to prison after the trial, as security forces fired into the air to disperse the angry crowd.

The men were arrested by the Bauchi State Sharia Commission for allegedly engaging in homosexual activities, acts that contravene the Islamic laws which the state had been operating under since 2001.
The men were named as Shehu Adamu, Yusuf Adamu, Aliyu Dalhatu, Abdulmalik Tanko, Usman Sabo and Hazif Sabo Abubakar and Ibrahim Marafa.

Lagos Assembly Orders Re-Opening Of Registration Portal.

Lagos State House of Assembly has ordered the management of the Lagos State University to re-open the registration portal for the over 1,000 students so they could complete the registration exercise.

It would be recalled that the students of the institution had, on January 22, protested the decision to close the portal disrupting the second semester examinations of the 2012/2013 academic session. However, the next day, the protest turned violent as the school's property was destoyed. The police had to intervene to desperse the crowd, several persons have reportedly sustained injuries. The school authorities have subsequently released a statement informing of the LASU's indefinite closure.

Police say, a 14-year-old was said to have stabbed her 11-year-old sister 40 times with a kitchen knife, leaving her to bleed to death. It has been gathered that the 14-year-old girl allegedly stabbed her half-sibling 40 times, while the victim was in bed, because the youngster had hit her and was ungrateful for meals cooked for her. The girl appeared in a juvenile court yesterday charged with first-degree murder.

Glendale police on Saturday arrested a 16-year-old girl after she allegedly strangled her 43-year-old boyfriend to death during a during what she claimed to be a consensual s*x act.

According to the police the accused, Jessica Burlew told them that she and Ash would often get involved in auto-er*tic asphyxiation games prior to having s*x. She used electrical wire to garote Jason Ash but when he lost consciousness she began to cut him with a razor blade to wake him and when he failed to respond she continued to cut him to ‘relieve her own stress’.

Chanel Tapper, a student from California, USA, gets the world's longest tongue, measuring 9.75 cm (3.8 in), from tip to top lip. Her lizard-like tongue is twice as long as the average, as long as the world's largest cockroach, as wide as your palm, the same volume as a quarter ponder hamburger and around the same length as an iPhone!!

Here what she told Guinness World Records about her record-breaking body part in a interview: 

 "I was eight and my mom and I were taking pictures for Halloween. In one of the pictures we stuck our tongues out. I noticed I had a long tongue when the pictures from  Halloween were printed and I saw it...but I guess it became apparent in middle school when people started commenting on it. Why I stuck my tongue out at people, I don't know... I'm goofy! But there are still some people from back then that only remember me because of my tongue!"
