[Photos] Resilient Worshipers Return To Bombed Kaduna Church For Sunday Service



It was an rare sight of courage and resilience today in Kaduna as hundreds of worshippers at Saint Rita's Catholic Church in Kaduna town return to the church for a Sunday mass. The church was attacked by a suicide bomber last Sunday killing 8 and injuring over 120 churchgoers.

We did not kill General Shuwa - Boko Haram



Major General Mammam Shuwa, a former member of the Supreme Military Council, was shot dead at his home at Gwange in Maiduguri on Friday November 2nd. A guest who was at his home was also killed. Boko Haram was later blamed for the assassination. But the terrorist group today denied having a hand in Gen Shuwa's death. A rep for the group said they held the general in high esteem as he never said anything against them and had no reason to kill him.

Barrister Valerie Ebe was yesterday sworn in as the first female deputy governor of Akwa Ibom state, the first woman in the state's 25-year history to occupy such a position.

Two nabbed in Abuja for drug trafficking




Two suspects, Emeka Ibeh and Chinedu Onwurah, were recently apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, with 6.435kg of narcotics.

Nov. 2 (PREMIUM TIMES) – The opposition Congress for progressive change party, CPC, has said the emerging media link between its national leader, Muhammed Buhari, and a planned parley between Boko Haram and the Nigerian government is aimed at tarnishing his image.

The party denied that the terrorist group appointed Buhari, to mediate between them and Federal Government in a planned peace process.
The Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Rotimi Fashakin, said this in a statement on Thursday.
Mr Fashakin told PREMIUM TIMES that Buhari has never been contacted by either Boko Haram or government to mediate any talks.
