Amaechi Names Street, N4.3bn College After Yobo



Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has named a block and a N4.3bn football college after Super Eagles skipper and Fenerbahce defence strongman, Joseph Yobo.  Amaechi named the street resulting in Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Ikwerre Local Government Area of their state after Yobo as a mark of respect to him for leading the national team to victory at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The governor spoke during a state banquet in honour of the Super Eagles'star at Government House in Port Harcourt on Saturday.  He explained, “We are very proud of you (Yobo) as you played well and have inked well for the united states; I congratulate you and your spouse and I wish you all of the best.

Some of you asked for their photos, well here they are. These are the photos of the two Nigerian Air Force pilots who lost their lives after the fighter jet they were flying crashed in Niger yesterday Monday May 6th.  They are Flt Lt Benjamin Bem Ado and Flg Offr Ayuba Joad Layelmenson. May they RIP! Amen.

Kwankwaso Releases Names Of 25 Victims Of Suicide Bombings, Says Senators Discussing Nonsense In Abuja ( See The List)



Kano State Governor, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, yesterday released  the names of some of the victims of last Tuesday’s suicide bombing  attack on a luxury bus terminal in Kano.  Apparently to refute that  most of the victims were from South Eastern part of Nigeria.
The  governor was speaking to a visiting federal government representatives who  had come to commiserate with the state government regarding the deadly  Monday suicide bombing of a bus station that killed at least 25 people.
Kwankwaso  had earlier replied Senators Kabiru Gaiya and Uche Chukwumerije, saying  they were “just ranting nonsense” in Abuja, and that they lacked first  hand knowledge of the attacks.

AS Catholic cardinals begin the process to elect a new Pope who will succeed Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, a sex abuse victims’ network has named a “Dirty Dozen” of cardinals who are contenders for the role of next pope.
The list, compiled by Survivors’ Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) and based on each individual’s actions and statements re-child abuse and a Church cover-up in the church, includes some frontrunners for the position.

WASSCE: Osun Suspends Principal, Teachers For Smuggling Names



Osun state government has suspended the Principal of Community High School, Eripa, Mr. T. A. Afolabi, along with some teachers for allegedly the names of six candidates into the school’s Senior Secondary School certificate examination list.
A news item monitored on Osun State Broadcasting Corporation by our correspondent, on Wednesday, revealed that the authorities were caught unawares by the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Titi Laore-Tomori, who paid an unscheduled visit to the school.
Laoye-Tomori, who ordered the suspension of the teachers, said the candidates were not officially registered for the certificate examination.

Bloomberg Names Dangote, 62nd Richest Man In The World




The President and Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Group of Companies, Mr. Aliko Dangote has been rated  the 62nd richest man in the world with a net worth of $13.5 billion.

According to a report by Bloomberg tagged, ‘The World’s 200 Richest People,’ Dangote is said to be richer than Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, Rupert Murdoch, CEO and founder of News Corporation, Giorgio Armani, founder of Armani designs who were stated as having net worths of $10.7 billion, $10.4 billion and $7.8 billion respectively.
