EU should drop language of sanctions against Ukraine – Diplomat

The European Union should stop speaking to Ukraine in the language of sanctions and use the language of support and political dialogue, Russia’s ambassador to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said at a press conference in Brussels on Wednesday, commenting on statements by some EU officials about sanctions against Ukraine.

Earlier Lithuanian Foreign Minister Linas Linkjavicus tweeted:
"Unrolling brutal scenario in Euromaidan calls for united reaction from EU. Calls for dialogue ineffective, time for targeted sanctions," Linkjavicus posted on his Twitter account.

Ukraine-China: 'third alternative'

The Europe-Ukraine-Russia triangle may turn into a quadruple if China enters the game. Faced with a contracting labor market and limited credit resources, East and Central European countries approach Ukraine’s associated membership in the European Union with caution, fearing that it all may end up in Kiev claiming its fair share of the pie.

EU strategists are racking their brains over how to lure Kiev, while keeping East European member states less concerned about it.  Ukraine’s hopes to negotiate more favorable terms failed. When President Viktor Yanukovych requested 150 billion euros in aid to speed up the economy’s transition to the European technical standards, even “senior” EU members got scared. Europe just can’t afford it.

Comments Of The Day: Culled from Riots In #Ukraine

Oh boy, another "freedom fighter" :)
All I hear from you is emotions, not the economic statistics or facts.
For example:
1. 40% of Ukrainian exports consumed by Russia, because no one in EU will buy it.
2. To adjust to European standards Ukraine need 150 BILLON EUR which Europe can't provide.
3. Document of "association with EU" has not saying anything about JOINING THE EU, just association and visa EASING, meaning a BUM like yourself will still need a visa.
