US lawmaker calls on FBI to take down ‘racist’ anti-terrorism ads

After numerous complaints the FBI has decided to hals its anti-terrorism ads campaign in Seattle. Critics say the FBI’s “Faces of Global Terrorism” ads on billboards and buses people have to observe every day create the stereotype that terrorists are exclusively people with brown skin or Muslims.

The “Faces of Global Terrorism” ads featured 16 men wanted around the globe for terrorist activities.
Rep. Jim McDermott, a Washington Democrat, called the ads “racist” and demanded they should be pulled. “You look at the pictures, they’re all one color of folks,” he said as cited by The Washington Times.
According to the lawmaker, “terrorist come in all shapes and skin”. In McDermott’s opinion, it is wrong that an image of a person with brown skin pops up in one’s mind, whenever one speaks about terrorists.

Experts Opinion: "Christian terrorism differs from Islamic inspired plots". Continue ...

Recent headlines are littered with words about "Islamic inspired" terrorists groups, their atrocities are of course violent but many people forget that other terrorists, including Christians, can pose just as much of a threat. Christian themed terror groups have different ways to get their message across. Two specialists talk tactics with the Ọmọ Oódua and explain why the word "terrorist" is often avoided.

Before revealing the techniques used by Christian associated terrorists groups, (making them unique in size, number and skill), defining them as "Christians" might be seen as politically incorrect. More often than not, Christian terrorist groups are given different labels and are branded right-wing religious terrorist movements which could come from two main types.

Terrorism and The Nigerian Situation

How Did We Get Here? Before the infamous failed bid of the “Underwear Bomber”, Farouk Abdulmutallab, terrorism seemed to be alien to Nigeria. Terrorism was only heard of in the news and read about in the newspapers. Even after the failed attempt to blow up the Detroit bound flight on December 25, 2009, Nigerians were quick to denounce the act and deny the bomber. Nigerians were quick to claim that the young man schooled abroad and was initiated and indoctrinated into the ways of the sinister world of terrorism outside the shores of Nigeria.

Not very long after, Nigeria found its way to the terror watch list. Nigeria was listed as a “country of interest”. The Nigerian government even went as far as giving the US an ultimatum to delist the country from the countries on the terror watch list. The Government even stated then that Abdulmutallab could not be used as a yardstick for the over 150 million people in Nigeria.

Iran Accuses US, Israel Of Sponsoring 'Iranophobia' In Nigeria Terrorism Allegation

The diplomatic spat is not the first between Nigerian and Iran. The Iranian government has dismissed allegations it was behind an emergent terrorist cell in Nigeria, targeting American and Israeli interests, saying the claim was sponsored by Israel and the US, its ark enemies, to incite anger against Iran.
A statement from the Iranian embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, said on Friday, the allegation by Nigeria’s secret police was an attempt at "Iranophobia", sponsored by the U.S. and Israel. "Due to the situation and position of the Islamic Republic of Iran," the embassy said, "some powerful and domineering states by resorting to the illegitimate means and by organising and supporting terrorism and delinquent groups, have attempted to work out and implement the Iranophobia project in countries which enjoy good capacity in terms of cooperation with Iran," Iran "strongly rejected" the claims, the statement said.
