President Goodluck Jonathan commends The Golden Eaglets + Atiku Salutes The Boys

Today, I commend Nigeria's Golden Eaglets due to their well deserved victory at the FIFA Under-17 World Soccer tournament in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, UAE.

The players played with great skill and projected the Nigerian can do spirit and the result is that Nigeria has become a four time champion. This may not come at an improved time seeing that Nigeria is on the cusp of celebrating our centenary as a nation.

Heinz CEO To Get $56 Million Golden Parachute If Fired



Manufacturers of a wide array of condiments including the world famous ketchup Heinz was acquired by Warren Buffet’s Bershire Hathaway and 3G Capital for $23.3 billion last month. 3G Capital is notorious for making major budget cuts, and so William Johnson, Chairman, President and CEO of Heinz may be one of the cuts.
Oh, to be wise like Johnson! He has a line of financial plans that entitle him to a whopping total of $212.7 million, should he be fired. In addition to his golden parachute worth $56 million, Johnson would also walk away from the company with vested stock and deferred compensation benefits.

UNILAG’s Golden Jubilee Convocation Ceremony In Pictures



The University Of Lagos (UNILAG) today at a convocation for its 2011/2012 graduating students marked 50 years of its existence.

At the event, the staff, alumni and friends event of the institution proudly expressed confident that the institution will continue with its name unchanged.
Last year, President Goodluck Jonathan tried to rename it Moshood Abiola University, a move that was resolutely opposed nationwide.

Golden Eaglets In Car Crash



Two players of the Nigerian men's Under-17 national team, the Golden Eaglets, have been confirmed to have been involved in a ghastly motor accident on Sunday.

Goalkeeper Adamu Abubakar and Friday Njengo were confirmed to have been involved in the car crash while on their way to the team's camp in Calabar.

The team's head coach, Manu Garba, has been in touch with the affected players, now receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Jalingo.
