Today’s development may have crushed the APC’s big push and momentum to effectively take over the House of Reps following the crisis rocking the ruling party. Those who defected from the APC to the PDP are: Honourables Ladan Shehu Bichi (Kano), Abdulsalam Adamu (Kano), Sani Umar Dangaladima (Zamfara), Shehu Gusau (Zamfara) and Umar Bature (Sokoto). Hon. Isa Mohammed Bashiru however defected to the APC from PDP. With this development, the PDP now has majority with 178 members as against the APC’s 168.

An Abuja-based NGO, Society Against Prostitution and Child Labour in Nigeria (SAP-CLN), in collaboration with Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) have elected to embark on a controversial campaign to rid Nigeria’s capital city of prostitutes. But it seems the campaign is being waged on the wrong side of the law following allegations of abuses and highhandedness, which grossly violate the provisions of Nigeria’s Constitution.

“For me as a person, nobody can take my right to talk from me. But I have assured the SSS that if the other side (opposition) maintains decorum, we too will maintain decorum. If they don’t, we too will not. We must all be treated equally.
