New Poll Shows Supporters of Scottish Independence Take Lead for First Time
The most recent poll to be published Sunday shows for the first time that the majority of Scots favor independence, according to Agence France-Presse.
The YouGov poll commissioned by the Sunday Times found 51 percent of voters in Scotland would back independence, compared with 49 percent opposed.
The anti-independence campaign has been ahead in opinion polls across the board for a long time with a 22-point lead in YouGov polling just one month ago but its lead has narrowed in recent days.
A referendum on whether Scotland should be an independent country will take place on September 18. Scots be asked one question, “Should Scotland be an independent country?” If voters back leaving the UK, Scotland could be independent on March 24, 2016.

The situation in Ukraine's Donbas region remains tense as Kiev government forces are violating the ceasefire agreement reached at the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine in Minsk, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said Sunday.
“The situation has not changed in any significant way in the course of the day and remains tense. Separate units of the Ukrainian forces, practically not controlled by Kiev, have stepped up provocations with the aim of gaining tactical advantage in a number of areas, as well as sabotaging the agreements reached at the talks of the Contact Group in Minsk,” the DPR headquarters said.Continue..
Ukrainian PM: Kiev to Impose Martial Law in Donbas if Ceasefire Agreement Fails
“If we talk about the ceasefire and the peace talks, when there is a peace plan, a peace plan supported by the EU, a peace plan supported by the US and a peace plan implemented by Russia, understandably, martial law is not necessary, but if this truce ends the same way as the previous truces, and not only in Ukraine, there will be no other way,” – Yatsenyuk said in an interview with the Ukrainian 1+1 TV Channel.Continue..

Medvedev: Energy, Finance Sanctions Against Russia May Provoke 'Asymmetric Response'
New Sanctions against Russia in energy or finance sectors could trigger an assymetric response from Moscow, such as closing its airspace, Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev told the Vedomosti newspaper in an interview released Monday.
“It is they [the West], who should be asked whether there will be new sanctions. But if there are sanctions, linked with energy, [or] further restrictions on our finance sector, we will have to respond asymmetrically. For instance, [with] restrictions in transport area. We act on the premise of friendly relations with our partners, and this is why the sky above Russia is open for flights. But if we are restricted, we will have to answer,” Medvedev added.

Russia’s Ambassador to UN: US Foreign Regime Change Policy Has Detrimental Consequences
The regime change policy that the United States has been conducting in countries it regards as unfavorable has the most detrimental consequences, as seen in Libya and Iraq, according to Russia’s ambassador to the United Nations (UN) Vitaly Churkin.
“Libya and Iraq are good examples where Americans left basically leaving their work unfinished. They came to change the regime, but if you’re conducting a regime change, prepare a new regime, make sure that this new regime is capable of solving the problems that the country is facing. This confirms the claim that we have made several times, in this room included, that such rough geopolitical engineering, changing regimes without looking into the possible consequences, has the most dire consequences,” Churkin told the Rossiya 1 TV channel Sunday.

The Novorussian ceasefire agreement + English translation
As seen on the Russian text on the OSCE page, and now Gleb Bazov sent Saker the translation. To say that one is under-impressed by this text would be an understatement. It should also be noted that many well informed sources spoke of a 14 points plan. Are two more points held in secret? What is certain is that this documents is imprecise, nebulous, ambiguous and otherwise vague to such a degree that one would argue that it is basically impossible to implement.
Knowing the degree to which Russian diplomats are normally maniacally fastidious and pedantic with words, one can only conclude that they have deliberately sabotaged this agreement and that it's sole use what to deflate the bellicose mood of the NATO summit. But as a basis for a real ceasefire it is useless, nevermind a real negotiation for a final status agreement or peace treaty.
