LAGOS—Angry youths at Makinde area of Oshodi, Lagos, yesterday, staged a protest over the death of one of them, Rafiu Adeniji, who was allegedly shot dead by a policeman attached to Agege area on Sunday.

Police Aggression: 1st Class graduate shot dead after trying to stop a Policeman from beating his girlfriend



A 30-year old first class graduate of Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Moses Murtala Aminu, has been shot dead by a policeman.
The victim had left his 67, Ahmadu Ahijo Street, Narayi-Highcost family residence last week Sunday full of life for a party at Barnawa , Kaduna, but could not return home as he was killed by a police constable.

Moscow police detained 16 Nigerian students over Embassy violence

Moscow police have detained 16 Nigerian students accused of smashing furniture inside their country’s embassy, reportedly in anger over unpaid grants.

The 16 suspects were removed from the embassy building at the request of Nigerian staff, Russia’s interior ministry told local media.

All of them are enrolled at colleges of higher education in Russia, it added.

Check out why Police Destroyed MASSOB's Office In Anambra



Omor, Anyamelu Local Government Area of Anambra State -- Yesterday, September 30, 2013, the police forces reportedly invaded and destroyed the office of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) in Anaku, the council headquarters. The incident comes two days after the inauguration of the office.

The MASSOB Director of Information
in the area, Joseph Tagbo, in his interview, stated the police "vandalized" the office, and "carted away equipment and cash."
Mr. Tagbo wondered what the organization's offence was, that would have provoked the violence and stealing.

Police nab three teenage stowaways at Lagos airport



The Airport Command of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested three teenagers for allegedly attempting to illegally board some international flights in Lagos.
Commissioner of Police for the command, Salahu Waheed, said the suspects, Lateef Popoola, 13; Amadi Joshua, 14; and Ukpabio Onyedikachi, 14, were arrested at different times at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja.

Police Arrested Chinese Man for ₦105m fraud



The Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police Force, Ikoyi, Lagos State has arrested a Chinese fugitive, Fang Yang, for his involvement in a 105m fraud.

The SFU said Yang had  been declared wanted in China about 17 years ago for fraud perpetrated against the 2nd Sub Branch of China Agricultural Bank of Qingdao in 1996.

Police IG, Lagos Police Commissioner Sued For ₦25 Million over Neglect of Mother



The family of a woman, Taskirat Anjolaiya, who was hit by a reckless and negligent police driver and knocked into a comatose state along with her new born baby, has filed a N25 million lawsuit against the police. Inspector General of Police Mohammed Dahiru Abubakar and the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Umar Manko are named as defendants in the lawsuit.

The accident occurred three months ago in Lagos as a police driver in an official van drove in the wrong direction on a one-way street.

A night at a Lagos police station



The telephone call came in the middle of the night, rousing me rudely from a deep and exciting sleep. I had slept very early the previous day having had a very exhausting afternoon. As a routine, I had ensured that my mobile phones were put in the silent mode. But on the fateful night, I had forgotten to change the tone. So, when the stringent Nokia tune broke the eerie silence of the night, I cursed under my breath. As I fumbled around in the Power Holding Company of Nigeria-induced darkness, I had wondered who could be calling at that ungodly hour. In my drowsy state, I answered the call. Then, I recognised the voice at the other end to be that of a neighbour. He frantically told me he had been arrested by the police for wandering while returning from work.

Police Discover Car Buried With Bodies Inside In Nasarawa



#Evil deeds are just happening everywhere...God please come to our rescue....
Residents of Nasarawa State were still in shock yesterday over the discovery of the bodies of two bankers and their driver.
They were allegedly ambushed by suspected Ombatse boys, who took them to the bush, killed them, set them ablaze with their car and buried them with the car by the riverside.

Some people alleged that you didn’t get the PPRO job on merit, but through closeness to some men at the top hierarchy in the force. Is this true?
You know the irony is when people gossip about you, you are usually the last to hear it. The gossip must have gone round but I never heard about it. I can tell that I got to this position through hard work. I wasn’t just handpicked. There was an interview and I emerged the best. If people are saying that, it’s their problem.

Nigerian Police bar youths from checking Amaechi's projects



Scores of youths attending an event organised by the Rotary Club with the Rivers State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, were on Friday barred by policemen from inspecting some state projects in Port Harcourt.
The youths, who were about 600 in number, were said to be waiting for Government House buses to convey them from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology to some of the project sites before armed policemen stormed the place and stopped them from embarking on the planned inspection.
The students were from 11 states of the federation.

Man arrested after catching wife red handed in bed with police officer




A distressed husband landed in jail after he found his wife in bed with another man, who turned out to be a police officer.

Peter Takavingofa, 25, was arrested after he allegedly bit the man, whom he caught sleeping in his bed with his wife.

Police officer Denhere Malvern, who is a member of the Chinamora police department in Zimbabwe, claimed the husband bit him during an altercation.

According to reports, a female police officer was yesterday attacked and almost strippéd nak-éd by a dreaded wealthy man.
The police officer, Inspector Tochukwu Offoegbu was allegedly on duty when the the ‘big man,’ who owns a park in Onitsha, approached her, allegedly telling her that he would facilitate her removal from Onitsha as he did to one  Archibong.

Mufty-wearing police officers led by Sam Okaura disrupted the secretariat flag off ceremony of the Baraje –led faction of the PDP, the secretariat is supposed to be the Rivers state chapter of the party, after the Chief of Staff of the Rivers state Governor, Chubuike Amaechi declared the secretariat open in Port Harcourt the Rivers state capital today.

This is another Ọmọ Oódua exclusive you don't get to see else where  . ...  The politics in Rivers state is getting dirtier A police detachment in Port Harcourt has prevented the convoy of the Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi from using one of the two entrances to the government house earlier today.
The governor's convoy was stopped as it made it way to through the Fortes road entrance by four truck loads of policemen led by several senior officers.

When three young farmers of Gwari extraction in Niger state conspired to source for human head in their neighbourhood for money-making rituals purposes, hardly did it occur to them that the long arm of the law might soon catch up with them. The three suspects, whose names were given as Saleh Ibrahim (35), Usman Lashi Sarki (30) and Dantala Doma, a.k.a. Operator, (25) years had conspired with other people which included a Fulani man simply identified as Gajere, now at large, who had allegedly given them a dried human skull to go and grind.

₦33bn police pension Fraud: EFCC gets court order to seize suspects’ property



ABUJA—A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, yesterday, cleared the way for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to freeze the illicit property of two of the prime suspects in the looting of the Police Pension fund to the tune of about 33 billion. The two suspects to lose their property scattered in many locations in Lagos and Abuja, are Atiku Abubakar Kigo and Uzoma Cyril Attang, who are alleged to have used the stolen funds to acquire the assets.

Rivers crisis: Police declare Amaechi’s ADC a deserter



THE Rivers State Police Command, on Monday, declared Governor Rotimi Amaechi’s Aide De Camp, Seimeikumo Debewari, a deserter. The state police command said Debewari had seized to be the ADC to Amaechi since his disappearance and refusal to obey directives from the force.
Debewari, who is an Assistant Superintendent of Police, was said to be involved in the free-for-all that took place in the State House of Assembly on July 10, 2013.
