Treason: Uwazuruike, 6 others must face trial –Supreme Court

Attempts by the leader of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazurike, and six other members of the organisation to prevent their being tried for treason were quashed yesterday when the Apex Court by a unanimous judgment okayed their trial.
The order followed the dismissal of an appeal filed by all the accused persons in the case to quash the charge and terminate their trial. Lagos lawyer and Chief Mike Ahamba (SAN) teamed up at one point to prosecute the appeal.
The apex court which dismissed their appeal yesterday for want of merit also returned their case file to the Abuja Federal high court and ordered that their trial should be commenced promptly and conducted with dispatch.

Government Will Continue To Dialogue With You Until You See Reasons Why Subsidy Must Go – Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has insisted that there is no going back on total subsidy removal. However, he said the government would continue to dialogue with Nigerians, to make them reason with the government on why the proposed removal is necessary.
The president made this known during the Nigeria Summit 2013, organised by The Economist, in Lagos, on Tuesday. He said it did not make economic sense to continue to waste resources meant for greater number of Nigerians to subsidise the rich in the society, stressing that his government would continue to enlighten Nigerians on the need to remove the subsidy.
In the words of the president: “We cannot continue to waste resources meant for a greater number of Nigerians to subsidise the affluent middle class, who are the main beneficiaries.”
Recall that the announcement of partial removal of the subsidy on January 1, 2012 led to a week-long strike and civil unrest.

PLEASE READ THE SCARY REVELATIONS BELOW…..

In an interview a man identified as Brother Sadiq, who was allegedly shown hell after a forty day fasting said, “The Lord said ‘come with me’ and the next thing I saw is that we were walking together in hell. The Joint Health Sector Unions on Tuesday insisted that the headship of public hospitals in the country should not be the exclusive right of medical doctors.
They also faulted the claims by the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, and the Nigerian Medical Association that their recent protest in which they called for the minister’s sack was political and amounted to blackmail.

True Life Story by the Richest Man in Hollywood (A MUST READ! )

I came across this interesting testimony by Tyler Perry and thought I should share:
A few years ago I was getting these really insane water bills. I mean HIGH! So I decided to dig some wells in my yard to have water for my landscape. I live alone, so I know it had to be from watering the grass.  So I hired a company to come out and dig these wells. The foreman and I walked all around my yard and as we were walking he was putting down flags. I asked what the flags were for. He said,

Young Entrepreneurs Must Experience Failure Before success – Elem

Sunny Elem is a real estate consultant and the Managing Director, Nature Hero Limited – a network marketing firm. In this interview with Okechukwu Nnodim, he says young entrepreneurs must realise that failure usually comes before success in business
What is the basic challenge of a prospective entrepreneur?
The first problem usually is funding because every great idea must have some kind of financial backup to put it to the marketplace. But in Nigeria we don’t have adequate access to funding for small scale or medium scale businesses. As an entrepreneur, borrowing money from friends and family sometimes may not be enough to meet your target in order to make it out there.

Also this issue of not having good statistics in the country is a challenge to entrepreneurship. You know when you are planning for a business you would want to rely on statistics in order to do your research very well. But as it is now there seems to be no particular place you can go to get information to aid you in your planning and I faced that challenge too when I was starting.
In Nigeria, if you are starting newly, you don’t get the support of the government unlike what is obtainable around most economies of the world. In the United States where I have some businesses, their economy is based on small scale businesses and that is why they don’t play with them.

FG Skips Planned Refinery Projects - Jonathan Must Tackle Fuel Subsidy Corruption–Labour

Eleven months after promising to build three new refineries for the country, the Federal Government may have dumped the plan. Saturday PUNCH investigations showed that the FG may have dropped the idea because of the unresolved issue of deregulation of the downstream sector of the petroleum industry.
This development came to the fore as organised labour expressed surprise at President Goodluck Jonathan’s N161bn supplementary budget on fuel subsidy for 2012.
