Kyiv police release all 35 detained for resistance at Maidan Nezalezhnosti



The 35 people who were detained by police at a pro-European rally at Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in the center of Kyiv have been released after administrative reports were drawn up on them, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said in a statement.

"The law enforcement arrived at Independence Square after they received a report from the Kyiv State City Administration's public utilities department. 'Berkut' [special police task force] started acting after the demonstrators resisted police and pelt them with trash, glasses, bottles with water, and burning sticks. As a result, 35 people were detained. Administrative reports have been drawn up on them, and they have been released," it said.

Mozambique airlines plane crashes in Namibia, all 34 passengers Died



A Mozambique Airlines plane, en route to Angola, crashed in a game park in northeast Namibia killing all 34 people on board, a Namibian police official said on Saturday.

Namibian Police Force Deputy Commissioner Willy Bampton told Reuters the burned out wreckage of the aircraft, which went missing on Friday, was found in the Bwabwata National Park, near the borders with Angolaand Botswana.
"The plane has been completely burnt to ashes and there are no survivors," Bampton said.

Saheed was quoted to have said
 “She is my ex. As for my name that she remains answering, the deed will undoubtedly be done soon. The Nigerian law says that if 3 or 4 years, you can certainly do something about it. If somebody wants to keep my name, what of the new person to arrive? It has nothing related to grudges.”

ABUJA: Lebanese Man Bags life sentence for storing elements of terrorism in His House.




Talal Ahmed Roda, one of the three Lebanese prosecuted by the Federal Government in experience of the armoury discovered in Kano, was on Friday jailed forever by an Abuja Federal High Court. But another two accused persons – the co-owner of Amigo Supermarket, Mustapha Fawaz, and Abdallah Tanini, were set free following the court ruled that the prosecution did not prove the 16-count charge brought against them.

The 16-count charge filed against the three accused persons and two business concerns – Amigo Supermarket and Wonderland Amusement Park Resort – involved components of terrorism,  money laundering and miscellaneous offences.

It would be recalled that governor Adams Oshiomhole went on a sanitation inspection tour and chanced apron a woman eking out her living by hawking her wares in the street. The governor then ordered his security details and officials to seize the property of the widow. When the widow went on her knees to beg the governor for clemency, stating that those goods were all she had, Oshiomhole told her 'you are a widow, go and die'.

Thousands of Yanukovych’s supporters rally in Kyiv



About 10,000 supporters of the ruling Party of Regions are taking part in the We Are Building Europe in Ukraine rally in central Kyiv. Organizers are expecting 50,000 people to turn up.

The rally is taking place in the same square where Yanukovych’s opponents have recently put up tents.

Federal Government Is Just Giving Empty Threats" - ASUU Responds To Ultimatum



The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Thursday described the threat by the federal government to sack lecturers if they don't return to classroom as empty threat that could not hold water.
The union said it is vindicated that the Federal government was not ready to implement resolutions reached with the union.

After the Federal Government issued this morning the directive ordering all Vice Chancellors of Federal Universities to re-open their universities for academic activities, the management of the University of Abuja has directed its students to resume academic activities on Sunday, the first of December. The statement was this morning signed by the University registrar. Telephone calls  the university's ASUU chairman Dr. Clement Chup to respond to the directive was not answered.
