Man beheads woman, claims men from deceased’s village r@ped his wife




32-year-old Chinedu Nweke (pictured above) has been arrested for beheading 45-year-old Philomina Nwega in Ebonyi State. Nweke claimed he committed the heinous crime to avenge the serial rape of his wife by men in the murdered woman’s village.

According to Sunday Sun, the horrible incident happened on September 6th in Umuzeoka village in Ezza North LGA of  Ebonyi State. Recounting the bizarre tale, Nweke, a farmer, said men from the village had raped his wife severally, alleging that the repeated vicious act led to a miscarriage.

Nigerian troops capture deadly armored tank from Boko Haram





Nigerian troops captured this monstrous T-55 armored tank pictured above and a highly sophisticated Armored Personnel Carrier from Boko Haram members on Friday September 26th as they tried to invade Maiduguri, the Borno state capital through Konduga.

According to reports, the sect members approached Konduga with the tank after seeing that they were losing the gun battle with the troops. Over 100 militants were killed and a few soldiers also lost their lives in the battle that lasted several hours.

US, Allied Military Forces Launch New Series of IS Attacks in Syria: US Central Command





The United States and partner nation military forces have continued to attack Islamic State (IS) terrorists in Syria, conducting a new series of airstrikes, the US Central Command stated in an official news release on Sunday.


Forces are using fighter and remotely piloted aircraft to carry out the attacks. An IS vehicle was destroyed south of Al-Hasakah in Syria in addition to several buildings in the area part of an IS garrison, the release confirmed. An IS command and control facility near Manbij has also been damaged. Additional buildings and vehicles along with a garrison, airfield and training camp used by the IS jihadists were also hit by the attacks.

Three students shot & in criticial condition after gunmen storm ESUT





Three students of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), Agbani, are in critical condition at the the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) after being shot and wounded by suspected armed bandits who invaded their hostel, The Nation reports.

The affected students are currently undergoing intensive surgery at the hospital where they were rushed to in the early hours of Saturday. One of the students was shot in the stomach and it was suspected that some pellets of the bullet were lodged in his abdomen for which doctors are battling to remove.

Tanks Patrolling Streets of Kharkiv After Court Bans Peace March





Tanks have started patrolling the streets of Kharkiv, reads the statement posted on the website of Ukraine's Interior Office in Kharkiv on Saturday.
"To augment measures to guard public order, the chief administration of Ukraine's Interior Office in Kharkiv has made a decision to put tanks belonging to the vehicle fleet of the police to the patrolling of the city streets," reads the statement.

Syria Unsure About US Hidden Agenda, Despite US Notices Damascus About Its Airstrikes





- The United States have informed Damascus about their airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) militant group positions, but it does not mean that Syria accepts the motion, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem told journalists on Saturday.

“Anyway, if their aim is to strike against ISIS, it's OK. But we still have our doubts about their hidden agenda,” Muallem said

Activist: Ukrainian Police, Security Service Violently Disperse Peace March in Zaporizhia





Police and representatives of Ukraine's Security Service (SSU) have violently dispersed the March of Peace in Zaporizhia, southeastern Ukraine, Igor Sysoenko, Chairman of the all-Ukrainian non-governmental organization "Youth, Society and Power, told RIA Novosti on the phone.
"The police, SSU and the Right Sector are violently dispersing the march," Sysoenko said. "We have asked for permission, but they turned us down; we keep on applying."
According to Sysoenko, they arrested him in Zaporizhia and threatened "to break his arms and legs". They also took away his car.

Lavrov: US Openly Declares Right for Unilateral Use of Military Force



– The United States has openly declared its right to use military force unilaterally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly on Saturday.
"Washington has openly declared its right to use military force unilaterally and wherever it sees fit in order to protect its own interests. Military involvement has become normal, even though all military operations launched by the United States in recent years have been unfortunate," Lavrov said.

Peace March in Ukraine: ‘They Did Not Let Us Speak Against War’




A "March of Peace" was held in the largest cities in Ukraine, which called for an end of the "blind war", conducted by Kiev southeast the country. Hundreds of activists came onto the streets of Kiev, Odessa, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia and others.

In some cities, however, the march had hardly begun when it was already over. The police dispersed and arrested the activists, while the representatives of the Right Sector made it clear that they would not let the peace protest happen.

Kiev swapping detained civilians for Ukrainian servicemen




The prisoner exchanges are taking place daily in eastern Ukraine in line with the September 5 ceasefire agreement signed during the ‪#‎OSCE‬-mediated talks in Belarusian capital Minsk.
Lacking enough prisoners of war among self-defense militias to be exchanged for Ukrainian servicemen, Kiev is releasing mixed groups of civilians who have been taken hostage for various reasons, The New York Times has reported.
